  • Automated Testing; Save Budget, Make Revenue
    by Gary Audin
Testing is a hassle. Testing needs to be done to ensure that everything works right. The number of endpoints to test can be daunting. The endpoints need to be “always on”. They need to be working as expected. If you are an enterprise, automated testing can reduce your testing budget and errors. If you are an MSP, VAR, or reseller, automated testing can produce new revenue.
This podcast with Chakra Devalla, CEO of tekVizion www.tekvizion.com and Gary Audin was recorded at the Enterprise Connect conference in Orlando, Florida. Chakra talks about testing when you deploy endpoints and testing the endpoints while they are in production with onPOINT http://www.tekvizion.com/services/onpoint/.  He recommends that continuous testing is actually necessary. It can also help you reduce the errors. Automated reporting simplifies the testing scenario and reduces human errors.
Chakra points out the benefits of onPOINT:
Testing can accelerate deployment for new customers and for upgrades to existing customers
Automated testing is less expensive than having engineers perform the test manually
    Automated testing will improve reliability
You can identify and diagnose problems faster, save time and money with remote support
tekVizion www.tekvizion.com helps service providers, vendors, and enterprise customers accelerate implementation, improve reliability,` and reduce the costs of deploying multi-vendor communication networks. tekVizion offers a range of services including interoperability testing, on-demand access to virtual lab environments, integration services and custom application development. • Oracle enables Contact Center cloud based software to access not only the Enterprise customers, but now the SMB customers – An Oracle Industry Connect Take Away
Two to three years of development were devoted to the customer journey and their experience when they call for assistance. Christopher Morley, Vice President and General Manager of Cloud Contact Center at eLoyalty, explains to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR Publication, how it is unlikely that it is the first time they have reached out to the company. The call to the contact center is part of a continuum where the customer may have:
    Been to the website
    Filled in a form
    Been to the store
    Read an advertisement
Touched the company 5 – 10 times just prior to the call
When he reaches the contact center, he does not want to start from the beginning. WebRTC has been an enabler to allow eLoyalty to bring the various contact points together for the contact center worker who are really surrogates for the people the customer would actually like to reach. The contact center worker is now supported by:
    A large knowledge base
    Screen Pops
    IT Capabilities
    More
eLoyalty is a premier provider of business transformational solutions, assisting its clients to completely revolutionize the customer experience. Their parent company, TeleTech, has been an innovator in contact center management technologies for over 30 years. In 2001, TeleTech pioneered the virtual contact center, enabling global multichannel queues, high availability, and scalability for customer management applications. After a technology investment of over $250 million, they now process over 3.5 billion VoIP minutes and several billion transactions annually on their Cloud architecture. In 2011, TeleTech acquired eLoyalty, an award-winning technology services provider, augmenting the TeleTech Cloud suite of products with eLoyalty’s capabilities and intellectual property under the eLoyalty brand.

  • As Open Source matures, Open Source contributes more to the development of industry standards – A take away from Oracle Industry Connect in Orlando, Fl
There has been an evolution in communications as well as in open source. This evolution has brought open source, which was at arm’s length from commercial products, to what now seems to be a very cooperative relationship. Chris King, Senior Director of Product Marketing at Oracle Communications, discusses the evolution and open source and the maturation of the cloud.
With the maturation of the cloud and the associated standards, enterprise which was reluctant to move to the cloud, now sees that the path is paved. Investments that are now made will not be at risk.  It is well established that certain technology will save money and provided flexibility to respond to the demands of customers that may come in burst mode.  In order to support the demand, SDN and NFV architectures need to be involved to automatically respond reliably.
You will also hear what impediments may still exist for enterprise moving to the cloud.
The first day of Oracle Industry Connect has been very successful with thousands of participants as well as speakers from the major companies from around the world.
I have attended a number of sessions and have learned a great deal about Oracle solutions and how they have advantages over other solutions in the industry. Listen in to hear some of them.
With more than 420,000 customers and deployments in more than 145 countries, Oracle offers a comprehensive and fully integrated stack of cloud applications, platform services, and engineered systems.
