“A lot of these solutions work even better, when you have an MSP or a channel partner involved,” says Mike Nowak, Chief revenue Officer of BCM One. People at the top get hooked in more easily, Bad actors look for back of the herd vulnerability.

“It is people and cyberattack actors recognize that,” says Walt Czerminski, CEO at Cytellix. “It’s the person that’s going to click on a phishing exploit and grant a cyberattack actor access into the organization. That’s the biggest risk.”

In this first podcast of a podcast series on cybersecurity, we examine the largest challenge: the people in any organization. From the CEO, a law firm’s most senior partner, the senior scholar at a university or mayor of a city, on the way down the organizational chart to a part time hire, or even a temp from a contractor, people matter in terms of thinking about risk. They needn’t want to cause any harm. “People at the top get hooked in, more easily,” says Czerminski.

Processes, behaviors, and more are among many points of weakness. Czerminski tells us that this is a vulnerability that happens the most. Email links are among the problems. Social engineering can include calls, and text. “For $500 and a handshake agreement that the actor won’t do anything for a few days, credentials are sold.”
