  • Dawn Cotter-Jenkins Discusses Telepractice Training & Development

    Dawn Cotter-Jenkins, MA CCC-SLP, MS Healthcare Informatics, is the CIO and president of, World Class Speech Services (wcspeech.com ). Her areas of specialty include telepractice training and development, professional speech and communication, and accent modification. She has expanded her scope of work to utilize her certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategies in CSD.

    Dawn has worked in several CUNY colleges as an adjunct professor and clinical supervisor. Most recently, she was a Clinical Supervisor at Adelphi University where she created the Telepractice Practicum and Research Suite, and Introduction to Telepractice for Speech-Language Pathology course.

    She serves on the NY Professional Licensing Board of SLP and Audiology and is currently volunteering on the NYSSLHA Diversity and Inclusionary Practices Ad Hoc committee. Dawn has also been serving as an ASHA mentor for almost 10 years. She was on the Media Strategy committee of CAPCSD from 2017-2020.

  • Molly Walker Shares Insights about Serving Children with Hearing Loss & Their Families

    Molly is a Speech/Language Pathologist and Certified Auditory Verbal Therapist with a passion for supporting families and their children with hearing loss work toward reaching their individual potential. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Redlands in Southern California, and Master’s degree from San Francisco State University. She served as the SLP for the Cochlear Implant Team at Children’s Hospital Oakland, and in a lovely twist of fate has returned now that it is called UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland working specifically as a research SLP on a study focused on the efficacy of telepractice. In the dozen years between these jobs, she worked for BabyTalk Teleintervention, early intervention programs for children with hearing loss in West Contra Costa Unified School District, Center for Early Intervention on Deafness, Regional Center of the East Bay, Utah School for the Deaf and Blind and operated a successful private practice in Salt Lake City prior to returning to sunny California. She lives on a couple acres with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, and three cats outside of Sacramento. Her family loves spending time outside, exploring new areas, trying new restaurants, and listening to podcasts!

  • Hannah Eskridge & Melissa Anderson Discuss Serving Children with Hearing Loss at UNC-Chapel Hill

    Hannah Eskridge, MSP, CCC-SLP, LSLS Cert AVT, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and the Director of the Children’s Cochlear Implant Center at UNC. She has been working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families for 20 years. She conducts Listening and Spoken Language parent participation sessions and tele-therapy sessions. Her primary interests are related to the use of strengths based coaching with professionals throughout the world in order to see the field of Listening and Spoken Language expand as well as working with families just beginning their journey in teaching their children to listen and talk, particularly vulnerable families with limited resources.

    Melissa Anderson, AuD, CCC-A is an audiologist at the Children’s Cochlear Implant Center at UNC. She graduated with her Au.D. from the University of Florida in 2014 and has been working at the Children’s Cochlear Implant Center at UNC since 2017. She is interested in finding new ways to use technology to provide care closer to home for her patients.

  • Stacy Crouse Share New Ideas & Resources

    Stacy Crouse is a speech-language pathologist in Des Moines, Iowa. She completed her master's in speech-language pathology with an emphasis on children with hearing loss from Fontbonne University (St. Louis, MO) in 2008. In 2017, she became a certified Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. In addition to a passion for Auditory Verbal Therapy, Stacy enjoys working with students through telepractice, which she has been doing since 2014. She also creates resources for both teletherapy and AVT.

    Mary Lofreso is a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist who specializes in Auditory-Verbal Therapy and is currently working toward her certification to become a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. She began her career at DePaul School for Hearing and Speech where she worked with children who were Deaf and Hard of Hearing and their families to learn how to listen and speak. She currently works as an SLP for the Hearing Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. Mary has been practicing via telehealth since she was a graduate student and has used it every day in her career since. She is always excited to find new and innovative ways to provide her patients and families with the best care and to encourage other professionals to step out of their comfort zone to do the same.

    Jeanette Smoot holds a master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from Utah State University and is nationally certified as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist.   • Jasper Estabillo Discusses the PEERS Clinic for Individuals with Autism

    Jasper Estabillo, Ph.D. is a Postdoctoral Clinical Psychology Fellow in the UCLA PEERS Clinic and a Postdoctoral Scholar in the UCLA Department of Psychology. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University and completed her predoctoral internship at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior in the Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities track. She has been fortunate to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in a variety of research and clinical settings, and in her career, she aims to expand training for and access to evidence-based interventions for autism. In the UCLA PEERS Clinic, she leads PEERS for Young Adults social skills groups and is involved in the PEERS for Dating program.

    Georgia A. Malandraki, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-S, is Associate Professor of Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences at Purdue University and a Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing Disorders. She investigates developmental and treatment neuroplasticity, and rehabilitative and telehealth interventions for dysphagia. Malandraki has 15 years of experience in telehealth for dysphagia management, and her work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and several foundations. She is the President-Elect of the Dysphagia Research Society and was recently selected as a 2021 ASHA Fellow.
