Ten Thousand Posts is a show about how everything is posting. It's hosted by Hussein (@HKesvani), Phoebe (@PRHRoy) and produced by Devon (@Devon_onEarth).
This week, we're joined by Washington Post tech columnist Taylor Lorenz, who has recently published her first book, "Extremely Online: The Untold Story of Fame, Influence, and Power on the Internet". Hussein talks to Taylor about how the idea of fame has changed in the past decade of accelerated online culture, whether an abundance of content means that nobody can really be influential anymore, and whether the attempts by creators and online influencers to unionise against tech platforms may lead to a wider acknowledgement of posting as a form of labour.
If you're in the UK, you can pre-order Taylor's book below:

This week, just the lads have an in-depth discussion about Ondi Timoner's 2009 documentary 'We Live In Public', charting the course of early internet pioneer Josh Harris, an artist who, in the late 90s, created an installation that housed 100 members of the public in a hyper-surveilled 3-storey loft in New York- highlighting the loss of privacy that technology and the internet brought with it.

On this episode, Hussein talks to Derek Guy, who you might know as "the menswear guy" on Twitter. We talk about Derek's sudden twitter fame when he was forced to become a main character after Elon changed the algorithm, and why he thinks his posts about menswear are incredibly popular, even among the most casually dressed, as well as oddballs who get mad about tailoring trousers. We also talk about how he started off as a forums guy, the ways in which forum culture informs the way he thinks about style and design, and whether the scope of the platform economy means that there are no more defining styles or aesthetics anymore.
We're back discussing everyone's favourite community hub, Quora, with our friend and yours Alex Ptak, who among many other podcasts also hosts the Quorator's podcast. We discuss some of our favourite Quora questions, including whether you should code an AI girlfriend, and what happens when said AI girlfriend becomes smarter than you, as well as our differing strategies for winning a fight against a bear. We also talk about an old friend of the show's personal Quora history, and how it made him the man he is today.
