This week we have a very corny title for a very philosophical episode lmao.
Last week I felt compelled to buy a copy of Be Here Now by Ram Dass and there was a section of that book that heavily related to my life so I decided to share it with y'all here today. The coming down portion is valuable insight to anyone out there who's experienced in traveling. It's not the end all be all of wisdom, but it is a good diving board to jump from to explore further! I hope you all are having a good week whenever and wherever you happen to listen to this!

This week we're at Riverview Park to explore and catalogue more of the Levee Trail with Sheba! This environment always inspires nostalgia for me and reminds me of a simpler time in my life. It's been very rainy around these parts so I'm grateful for the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the sunshine! Cactus Carl is also continuing to grow at a good rate, it wont be long until the propagation episodes! I hope y'all are having a good day whenever and wherever you happen to listen to this.

This week I'm exploring a section of the loop in Turkey Run park while I was waiting to get my AC unit fixed and reflecting on how grateful I am to have functioning AC when it's working. Once it gets up to 80+ degrees in the house I begin not sleeping as well and it also makes my dreams strange, like a half fever dream.
This combined with the continuation of the EMDR process led to a few wild dreams this past week and I talk about one of them. I also discuss the guided meditation experience that I had in therapy this week and how that can be used as a tool to increase quality of life.

This week I began the first of the many experiences with the EMDR process and it's been a heavy week to say the least. It seems like this process has taken a lot of repressed memories and brought them to the forefront for reprocessing; this ultimately will be good. However, right now it's difficult to deal with and has been affecting my sleep. This is to be expected though and I feel like I have to trust the process and continue to put the work in. I'll be cataloging how this goes over the next few weeks!
Also! Around the 8 minute mark, there's an alligator snapping turtle on the ground by the fence that I didn't notice. I hope that it's doing alright because they aren't usually land critters.

Today I'm shaking off some of the heaviness that I've been feeling since last week's near death experience by hiking a few miles in the woods of Jefferson Memorial Forest. I go over some fun memories of hiking out there a few years ago as well as a wild experience with an Amanita Regalis mushroom. I also do my part to help clean up nature by picking up a bottle of red Rhotos that I found in the middle of the woods. This week makes 6 months off of cannabis, I'm halfway to the year long goal that I set for myself. I hope you're having a good day whenever and wherever you happen to listen to this!

The other day I decided to go film an episode on my kayak at Floyds Fork after a big storm and the waters were too treacherous to handle. The footage is forever lost but I am alive. I got pinned under the water against a downed tree that made a strainer, but luckily was able to make it out. After I got out of the water the adventure really began. I'm grateful to still be here!
I also share some thoughts on the finalization of cannabis rescheduling + the approval of psychedelic therapies for people with various mental illnesses!
Thank you all for the continued support and I'm glad to still be able to make episodes!

Today's (yesterday) Earth Day and so Sheba and I went to a trail that I don't hike on very frequently! I also talk about my bicycle day ride and the weaponization of ticks! It's a beautiful day to get outside provided you have the health and means to do so! Cactus carl is also doing well, and the new growth is a couple months away from being ready to propagate! I hope you have a good day whenever and wherever you happen to see this!

This week Sheba and I are exploring the site of the abandoned graves that used to be part of the Central State Hospital also known as the Lakeland Asylum. I decided to do this today because I started my first of many EMDR therapy sessions this past Monday and wanted to reflect a bit on how appreciative I am that mental health treatments have come so far in this part of the world. PTSD, Bipolar, and ADHD are a hell of a mixture to live with every day and I'm glad I can get treatment and go home afterwards instead of have to spend my time in a hospital.
I also share some brief Bicycle Day history and thoughts before going back to hang out with Cactus Carl in the Cactus Creation Tent! We're seeing a lot of growth on that side and I am grateful to have infinite cactI!

Today, I'm heading down the other direction on the Louisville loop trail from three weeks ago, I realized that I hadn't actually been that far down and wanted to see where it lead to! It's a nice walk and I wanted to get it in before the data center is built and the environment gets fucked down there! It's sad to see how things change sometimes, so enjoy them while you still can! I'm thinking about getting my bike out there to ride the whole trail and into Jefferson Memorial Forest for bicycle day if I can! I hope you all have a good week whenever and wherever you happen to listen to this!

This week, I'm officially 30 years old. It feels weird to say that but it happens to most people at some point! I'm grateful for the ability to get outside today and enjoy the weather with Sheba and I'm grateful for the cactus in all of its collective wisdom! Tonight, I'm going to get some steak frites and watch the storm roll in, maybe even get a post storm walk in who knows! I hope you have a good day whenever and wherever you happen to listen to this one!
