Episode 11: Keeping it Real (May 18th 2018)
'Much has been said of the Vince Stadons of yore
Of chat-fests and podcast shows by the score
But I sing of a Jeremy Wall we adore
The podcast overrater'.
This episode:
The Wicker Man:
Vince and Jeremy discuss the 1973 British folk horror classic, which they first saw thirty years ago, and keep returning to, and as Vince proposes a range of Wicker Man merchandising, Jeremy sets in motion a diabolical evil scheme to improve his home-grown rhubarb.
Vince wonders if Bruce ‘The Boss’ Springsteen has ever used his celebrity status to officially endorse a punningly named Indian Restaurant; Jeremy explains why Britpop darlings Oasis are just too basic and way too madferitourkidlike to be taken seriously; we speculate as to what The Beatles might have played at Live aid; we ponder the appeal of Steve Winwood; and our Overrated supergroups do battle once again.
The artists/bands rated and discussed are The Pierces, Deep Purple, Oasis, and Nirvana. We also speak about Manfred Mann and Manfred Mann’s Earth Band (in Deciphering the Lyrics), Doves, Medieval Babes, Traffic, Blur and Britpop, Weather Report, Paul Giovanni, and Bruce Springsteen.

Episode 10: The Dickie Davies Fight Club - NYC SPECIAL (April 14th 2018)
'The first rule of the Overrated Podcast is: You don’t talk about the Overrated Podcast.'
This episode: NEW YORK SPECIAL!
We don fedoras and sunglasses, and scoff hot dogs and bagels as we are joined in the Overrated Studio by old school pal and New York resident Neil Barret, who chooses a selection of great songs pertaining to his adopted city.
As the three of us ponder the majesty of Daley Thompson’s Olympic moustache, and try to picture Sid Vicious attacking Whispering Bob Harris, Jeremy invents a new wrestling move, Neil gets annoyed at the egregious lack of specificity in America’s lyrics, and Vince confiscates the word ‘the’ from ‘the’ New York Dolls.
The artists/bands rated and/or discussed are Odyssey, Carole King, New York Dolls, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, and America, with passing mentions of The Sex Pistols, Crass, Fleetwood Mac, ELO, Television, Mariah Carey, The Beastie Boys, Free, and Breakestra.

Jeremy met Brian Pern (Simon Day) and told him all about the podcast, earning a thumbs up and a cheery “Why not?” from the mighty Progster and Segway enthusiast.

The artists/bands rated and/or discussed are Dexys Midnight Runners, Moby, The Byrds, The Jam, and Black Sabbath.

Episode 8: From L.A. to Totterdown (February 8th 2018)
'Hey Hey it’s the Podcast!'
This episode: As Jeremy struggles to recollect anything recorded by 80’s/90’s UK pop princess Cathy Dennis, and Vince struggles with his vocabulary, both men go to war as they create rival Supergroups.
Also this show, they decide that The Banana Splits were a lot funnier than the Monkees; that psychopathic killers should really learn how to spell; and that classic BBC weather presenters Michael Fish and John Kettley should have either had a brief and amusing pop career, or they should have been involved with the 60’s militant US counter-cultural group The Weather Underground, if only to offer sound meteorological advice.
The artists/bands rated and/or discussed are Betty Boo, The Monkees, Stevie Wonder, and Nick Drake.

Episode 7: Uncomfortably Waiting for it to End (December 20th, 2017)
'Our Chestnuts Are Roasting On An Open Fire'
This episode: CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!
As Jeremy realises with rising horror that if he was in Wham! he’d be Andrew Ridgley, and Vince makes the case for George Michael being a calculating high-functioning sociopath with vengeance in his heart, both men get into the Christmas Spirit by cruelly denigrating widely held nutty belief systems, ruthlessly critiquing inarguably dreadful movies, and deciphering the cryptic meanings behind ELP, FGTH and EMF.
The artists/bands rated and/or discussed are Slade, Greg Lake, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Wham!, Cliff Richard, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Episode 6: Languishing in Obscurity (November 22nd 2017)
'Non scientes quod ambitiosam (Never knowingly pretentious)'
This episode:
As we discover just how many times Critically Acclaimed UK Playwright™ Vince can easily be irked, Jeremy is turned into a dynamic pose-able action figure with eagle eyes and grip hands (just in time for the Christmas toy market); both men clash swords over the age-old debate of art vs commercialism, but both are in firm accord that romantic advances towards complete strangers should not involve needlessly over-complicated plumbing/messaging arrangements, and that Cockney Rhyming Slang is incomprehensible gibberish.
The artists/bands rated and/or discussed are The Shadows, R.E.M, Radiohead, Mike + The Mechanics, and Tony Orlando and Dawn.

Episode 5: Ghosts are Bullshit! (October 20th 2017)
'Listen to them, the children of the night'.
This episode: HALLOWEEN SPECIAL!
In this spooktactular edition of what’s been called “the scariest podcast ever recorded” by bull**** ‘medium’ Derek Acorah (not really; just like him, we’re making it all up), Jeremy adopts a new non de plume for his Rock and Roll Name and accidentally insults the state of Texas; Vince solves a centuries old murder case by identifying pretentious middle-class totty actor Martin Shaw as Jack the Ripper, and confesses he’s never been to Wigan (Vince, that is: not sure about Martin Shaw – perhaps he can let us know in the comments section); and both friends fondly reminisce about their school days at a mediocre Comprehensive when they bossed the second-rate teaching staff into letting them write and film a terrible video adaptation of Dracula, which nonetheless was considerably better than the one made by Francis Ford Coppola fifteen years later.
The artists/bands rated and/or discussed are Warren Zevon, R Dean Taylor, Talking Heads, Michael Jackson, and Classics IV.

Episode 4: The Clive Dunn of Glam Rock (August 24th 2017)
'You Wouldn't Like Us When We're Angry'
This episode: 1970’s SPECIAL!
As Operation Yewtree closes in on The Wombles of Wimbledon Common, Jeremy and Vince confidently (if unwisely) don flared trousers, platform heels, pseudo-silk kimonos and glitter face paint in celebration of “the decade of lurid wallpaper, silly hairstyles and burly men warming their hands around braziers,” to quote lurid and burly historian Dominic Sandbrook.
Jeremy wonders if TV’s Dr David Banner (aka The Incredible Hulk) has the worst employment history of any medical professional in history; Vince unpicks a dastardly scheme by ‘Scrumpy ‘n Western’ cider-drinking yokel-funsters The Wurzles to thwart a proposal by a taskforce from the Environmental Agency and North Wiltshire County Council to tackle traffic congestion in Swindon Town; and both men express sadness and dismay at the unwaveringly tatty and unappealing kitsch that forms the vast majority of Elvis merchandising.
The artists/bands rated and/or discussed are David Essex, Jeff Wayne, The Wurzles, The Stranglers, Marc Bolan and T-Rex, Blondie, and Elvis Presley.

Episode 3: Haunted by Phil Spector (July 20th 2017)
'The Strong and Stable Coalition of Chaos'
This episode:
Vince becomes Jeremy’s ruthless manager/Svengali figure and forces him to make a series of increasingly poor low-budget movies; Jeremy wonders if Tosh from The Bill should have been in sweary Dr Who spin-off series Torchwood; Vince wonders about all the Micks in rock and Roll; Jeremy demands a Persian Carpet as we play a game of Top ****s; and we keep forgetting that Jeremy has to rate everything on our poorly constructed board.
The artists/bands rated and/or discussed are Deacon Blue, Tin Tin Out, The Clash, The Specials, David Bowie, Doves, Van Morrison, and John Lennon.

Funny? Or Scary?
Terror in Turtlenecks is both. We have truly scary, unnerving stories that will chill you to the bone. And we have goofy, funny, silly storioes that will not just…
BRAND NEW WRITING!
We're very proud to present all new pieces of work by talented writers, read by equally talented actors, or by the writers themselves if they're any good at reading and have passed our stringent tests involving a room filled with scary things, like household bills and puppets that are falling apart a bit. And of course, they'll be wearing turtlenecks when they record them, and damnit, when they write them. We're writing this while wearing turtlenecks. That's how committed to this we are.
Because this isn't just another spoken word podcast. This is TERROR IN TURTLENECKS!
Terrifying Yarns. Tightly Knit.
