Four years in the making, Tommy Kraft's Enterprise-era Star Trek film is at last spreading its wings. In 2160, the Coalition of Planets, a young alliance of worlds led by Earth, is at war with the Romulan Empire. Desperate for a chance to gain the upper hand in the war, the Coalition forms an alliance with T'mar, a Romulan defector, in the hope that she can provide valuable intelligence on her former masters. Diplomats, mysterious signals, and crash landings. They're all part of Miasma, the latest eNovella adventure from Pocket Books, penned by Star Trek veteran Greg Cox. Spanning just 99 pages, the compact thrill ride finds the landing party stranded on a hostile world—unable to communicate with the Enterprise—while Captain Kirk and Saavik race to save the day. Captain’s Holiday.

Everyone gets a bit too stressed sometimes. And when that

happens, it can be difficult to enjoy anything—even the negotiation
of a successful trade agreement. When this happened to Captain
Picard, the crew had to pull together to force him to take a
vacation. But of course, a Picard vacation isn't quite like the
    ones you and I take.

In this episode of The Ready Room, we’re joined by Aaron Harvey,

Matthew Rushing, and Mike Schindler to discuss “Captain’s Holiday,”
Jean-Luc and Vash, the prolific Max Grodenchek (he’s everywhere!),
Riker’s counseling skills, and why you should be careful where you
    put your Horga'hn.

In our news segment, we consider whether William Shatner’s

return as Captain Kirk would be a good idea or a bad one, debate
the StarTrek.com poll that asked Star Trek pet you would want to
have, and discuss the choice of Bryan Fuller as show-runner for the
new Star Trek series premiering in 2017.

  • 132: Now THAT'S Dedication!

Eaglemoss Releases Enterprise 1701 Dedication Plaque.

The starships that British replica maker Eaglemoss has been making over the past few years are fantastic. If we could zoom inside one of those ships, we'd find a little dedication plaque on the bridge. Luckily, for key Federation ships, they've produced replicas of those plaques as well. You can already hang those of the Enterprise-D, Enterprise-E, Enterprise NX-01, Voyager, and the Defiant on your wall, and now you can add the dedication plaque from the original 1701 to that collection as well. We take a look at the replica Eaglemoss has created with with the help of Mike Okuda.
