Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has made it clear that he wants to put together an undisputed title fight with Tyson Fury at the end of this year.

WBA, IBF & WBO champion AJ will next defend his belts against Kubrat Pulev on June 20, with WBC champion Fury set to once again face Deontay Wilder later in the summer. After that, the hope is for an historic all-British showdown to come to fruition, however if this bout is not able to be made for whatever reason, Joshua will have to look elsewhere.

It took a little longer than expected, but WBC/WBO super lightweight world champion Jose Ramirez, the pride of California’s Central Valley, is set to return. Ramirez will defend his titles against mandatory challenger and former world champion Viktor “The Iceman” Postol Saturday, May 9 at Save Mart Center in Fresno, a short drive from Ramirez’s hometown of Avenal. Ramirez and Postol were set to fight Feb. 1 in China, but the bout was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Ramirez-Postol and a 10-round super lightweight battle between former two-weight world champion Jose “Sniper” Pedraza and surging 2008 U.S. Olympian Javier “El Intocable” Molina will be televised LIVE on ESPN and ESPN Deportes beginning at 10 p.m. ET, with the undercard bouts scheduled to stream in English and Spanish on ESPN+ starting at 7 p.m. ET.

Bob Arum is just as eager as everyone else in the industry to see a truly undisputed heavyweight champion.

The Hall of Fame promoter struggles to understand, however, just how Anthony Joshua will have anything to do with that conversation after his next fight.

"Take it to the bank. There won't be an Anthony Joshua after June 20," Arum insisted during a recent segment of The Ariel Helwani Show on ESPN.

Joe Goossen to train Pulev
Hearn insists he spoke with Arum about Fury-Joshua
Hearn explained that not only has he spoken with Arum about the fight - it was Arum who reached out to him.

-"Of course I f-cking have [spoken to Bob Arum]. Firstly, I’ve been negotiating the Pulev fight with him. How many times have I spoken to Bob Arum in the last three weeks? Half a dozen, a dozen. How many times have I spoken to Arum since the Fury fight? Four times. Of course, I’ve spoken to Bob Arum! Do you think Bob’s not going to call me and talk about it? This geezer is all over it like a rat up the drain pipe. He was the first one to call me," Hearn told IFL TV.

"We’ve been talking loads, loads. I haven’t seen Frank’s interview where he says Bob definitely hasn’t had a conversation with me about the fight? Okay. Listen we haven’t been exchanging contracts, but we’ve had several conversations about Fury-Joshua. We talked about how the fight would work, we talked about how the broadcasters would work.

"It wasn’t drafting contracts, but it was talk between the two guys for the biggest fight in boxing. We said let’s all get round the table. This is how the deal should work. I have no problem sitting round the table with Bob and if it has to be Frank and if it has to be MTK, no problem. With us, it’s very simple to get a fight done with AJ. How many people is Tyson Fury paying percentages to? All these people? It’s madness. More than happy than talking to Bob, Frank – whoever – to get this done. I’ve got full authority from Joshua to make this fight. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t do it now. Everyone wants that fight. It makes the next two fights even more interesting, semi-final to the final."

Are you buying Callum Smith claims that Canelo didn’t want to fight him?
-Smith says Canelo's handlers made him a single offer and then never came back with a counter.

On the other hand, Smith says the same offer was made to Saunders, who also rejected the presented terms, but then Canelo's handlers continued to negotiate with Saunders for several weeks.

"They made me an offer which I believe was too low. I said no. Billy Joe said no to the same offer. I thought we'd start negotiating and we'd have some back-and-forth. But that was it. He made one offer then went to social media saying that I didn't want the fight," Smith told Sky Sports.

"Good luck to Billy Joe, I hope he goes out and does it. But I don't think they ever really wanted me anyway. They were just covering their own backs. They made one offer, it was the first and last I heard. They have been negotiating with Billy Joe for the past few weeks. I don't believe it was close to being done.

"I'm disappointed. It wasn't a fight I ever believed that I'd get but, to get an official offer, you start thinking of ways to beat him. It was a fight I wanted but good luck to Billy Joe. We're both world champions but I'm No 1 in the divisions. Billy Joe is a good fighter who has paid his dues. I believe that I'm the tougher fight for Canelo but we're both world champions, so we're both tough for him."

Robert Helenius Drops, Batters, Stops Adam Kownacki in Shocker. Helenius had started to take a beating and appeared exhausted when he drilled Kownacki with a right and then a left that sent Kownacki to the canvas early in the fourth round of their scheduled 12-round WBA heavyweight elimination match. A staggered Kownacki got up, but he was disoriented and Helenius jumped on the heavily favored Kownacki.
