It's not just T-Shirts and hoodies. They made a plush-toy coochie from Shygirl's Coochie Call single (over one million Youtube views to date). They have made air-fresheners for a client, however they only make stickers and T-Shirts for the music duo Jockstrap which is ironic as they make Y-fronts for Marika Hackman.

OONAGH O HAGAN, OWNER MEAGHERS PHARMACIES explains how she competes with big, big international competitors -

Service is key. Business is about people and she explains how she competes on service and finds the best service providers for her stores.

At the end of the day they look for people with empathy. And she finds ways of finding out if her future employees have that empathy by asking incoming applicants 'what the most recent kind thing they have done.

They began online due to customer demand, but it didn't make money for a long, long time. However, Meagher's is now serving 70 countries online worldwide. And why did she stick with it? Because they survey their customers all of the time, and the customers said they wanted it. It was only a matter of time...and they have global ambitions. They will also open new stores in 'under-served' communities in Ireland

Her mother, her entrepreneurial inspiration, who ran a Courtaulds factory near Omagh making bras for Marks and Spencer, managing two hundred people.

She even offers a fix for the HSE! She says policy makers don't know the value of the community pharmacies - ''they need to be freed up from bureaucracy''

Oonagh is a mentor on the women based 'Going for Growth' programme and she says that a lack of confidence is the major thing that holds back women in business. She explains what she does to make their mentees more confident. She has mentored about 100 women and she thinks women like Aimee Connolly is standout.

It's just like the script from a soap opera

Former COO of MooCall John Larkin is winding down another business, finds a notebook where he has jotted down 'brilliant business ideas', sees that he had previously looked at the personal soap business and instead of talking and researching it further, he just went and did it. It being, he set up The Black Stuff,, as his soap is laced with...the other black stuff.

From humble beginnings in his South Dublin kitchen table, where learnt how to swill soap from YouTube videos, he now has 5 full time employees and has moved into new industrial premises. He sells mostly online and how he got his big US breakthrough will make you smile, as, in business, opportunities come from the most unlikely sources.

John was introduced to That Great Business Show by the good guys at Parcel Planet that we had on the show recently as he is using their Birmingham hub to ship to the UK (avoiding all the hassles of Brexit) and next he's heading for their new Parcel Planet hub in the Netherlands, serving the huge French and German markets.

He learnt how to make soap watching YouTube videos, starting making his Guinness infused soap, naturally called The Black Stuff, at home two years ago. He's now employing 5 full time, plus part timers and he's just moved into new premises, big enough to grow 10X. John plans on cleaning up with his business. He's also just launched a natural deodorant. Could the scent be the sweet smell of success. It's a great story. And John is great fun.

Anthony Tattan, founder Business IN South Africa got to know how to do business there whilst working for an Irish based telecoms company. Covid meant people didn't carry cash. No cash meant zero tips for those who traditionally relied on tips for a living. Also, tax laws meant businesses didn't want to run tips through their electronic sales systems. That's the problem.
