That You May Know Him

Today, Blake and Pastor Carlos continue our new series on the subject of Christian soteriology. What Must I Do To Be Saved? airs every other Wednesday and features an extended conversation on the topic of salvation. In this week's episode, Blake and Pastor Carlos discuss the divine tension that exists in Scripture regarding God's role in salvation: are we saved because He chooses us, or because we choose Him? They also introduce the two main theological camps that have been trying to settle, and in some cases erase, this tension for centuries.

Welcome to Beginnings, a new series on the TYMKH Podcast that will seek to highlight the unity of Scripture by studying two books side by side: Genesis (the beginning of creation) and Acts (the beginning of the church). In today's episode, Blake and Kevin walk through the first part of Genesis chapter one, the story of creation, while giving special attention to the details contained within the narrative. They also begin to ask questions about the text: "What type of genre is this?" "Is it meant to be read as history?" and "What's the major takeaway that the writer wants us to have?"

Join us every other Wednesday as we walk through these two amazing biblical books simultaneously, all while giving special attention to the unity and oneness of Scripture.

Beginnings is produced by That You May Know Him Ministries and is hosted by Blake Barbera and Kevin Powell.

In Revelation 2:24-25, Jesus turns his attention to the faithful believers at Thyatira who are being tempted in a powerful way. Sometimes, the simplest advice is the best advice, and Jesus has some pretty simple advice for his faithful followers at Thyatira: "hold fast!"

In His opening words to the Church at Thyatira, Jesus offers the congregation remarkable advice as to how they can honestly assess their spiritual lives. He also warns them about a false prophet that is living amongst them and helps them to clarify the difference between a spiritual gift and a church office.
