Louisville police released body camera footage of officers rushing to the scene to stop the gunman. After five were killed, the mayor called on state and federal lawmakers to pass gun safety legislation. Meanwhile in Tennessee – where a school shooting killed six people two weeks ago – the Republican governor has signed an executive order strengthening background checks. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear became emotional when he revealed that he lost a close friend in the tragedy. After joining a gun violence protest in the Capitol, two black lawmakers were expelled from the body. They have vowed to not give up. Meanwhile, a federal judge in Texas suspended the approval of the abortion pill – causing the Justice Department to file an appeal of the ruling. Last week three state representatives were threatened with expulsion for standing with students protesting gun violence at the statehouse. Today, two were expelled -- both Black men. Their colleague who survived the vote is a white woman. After his expulsion -- former Tennessee State Rep. Justin Jones speaks about his experience. The panel is looking into former President Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election. This a new legal threat after the former president’s arraignment in Manhattan yesterday. Yamiche Alcindor, Joyce Vance, Anthony Scaramucci, Jim Rutenberg, Anthony Scaramucci, Bob Torricelli, Matthew Dowd, and Michael McFaul join.

The former president pleaded not guilty in a New York City courtroom Tuesday. After the proceedings, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said that he would not "normalize serious criminal conduct." Trump immediately flew back to Mar-A-Lago and was defiant in a speech. David Farenthold, Susanne Craig, Andrew Weissman, Tim O'Brien, Charles Coleman, Jessie Opoien, Jon Meacham, and Rep. Adam Schiff join.

The former president will be arraigned on some 30 counts of document related fraud. And in Wisconsin, voters prepare to head to the polls to vote for a new state supreme court justice – in what is being called the most consequential election of the year. The former president is expected to fly to New York on Monday and appear at his arraignment on Tuesday. Trump’s Republican allies are rallying around him – Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene even announcing she will go to New York on Tuesday to protest the indictment. He is the first former President to face criminal charges. The Manhattan Grand Jury was looking into hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during Trump's 2016 campaign for President.
