There are a lot of things that affect our internal states: finances, social media, you name it. Today, Hallie and I discuss the effects of wealth and social media on both our own mental states and the collective consciousness of this entire new generation. We also share where we find ourselves feeling happiest, and the podcasts and audiobooks we’re listening to that help inform and recenter us.

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago, so Hallie and I kick off the conversation by diving into how different people celebrate their birthdays and what that might mean about their perspective on life in general. After all, our level of neutrality can shift and change depending on the situation in front of us—the key is to be aware of it and leverage it appropriately. We wrap up the conversation by talking about entrepreneurship, the gig economy, and the future of work.

“Worry is worshiping the problem.” We’re not sure who said it first, but we thought it was well worth sharing and discussing.
This week, we share our personal experiences with anxiety and how we deal with it. We also discuss the pros and cons of motivation and it plays into building a business, diving into the modern day misconception that building a business can be done with minimal hours and work-life balance. Finally, we debate whether remote work is more beneficial or harmful for businesses and employees.

This episode covers myriad of issues facing our modern world today: how technology is impacting kids in school and beyond, the effects of mortgage rates and inflation on the economy, and the looming recession in the U.S.
Hallie and I discuss our personal experiences with social media and the challenges of comparison and distraction. We also touch on the negative effects of cell phones in schools, then transition to the impact of mortgage rates on the real estate market and the rising cost of food and the impact it has on household budgets. We conclude with Warren Buffett's investment strategy, the distribution of wealth in the stock market, and, on a positive note, the power of journaling at any age.

Hallie and I both just returned from vacation, so the topic is top of mind for us this week. In this episode, we share about my recent trip to a dude ranch in Wyoming and Hallie’s week on the beach in Maine, and explore how our personal experiences have shaped the way we view time off, travel, and how our energy affects our personal experiences no matter where we are.
We also touch on the balance between hard work and setting boundaries, the evolution of motivations and ego in building a business, and the importance of finding joy in everyday moments.

It’s Olympics season, and we have a lot of questions: What motivates Olympic athletes to compete? Why is there such a pay disparity between professional athletes and Olympic athletes, or even the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders? And why do bronze medalists often seem happier than silver medalists?
In this episode, we discuss all of this and more, attempting to answer them both from the inner and outer world perspectives.

Surprise! Hallie is back!
In this episode, we catch up on Hallie’s experiences over the past year since her departure and what she has learned on her journey from Force Multiplier to entrepreneur. We explore the character traits that differentiate the two roles and the learning curve involved in pivoting between them.
We also reflect on the attempted assassination on Donald Trump and how to lead through turbulent times, considering the impact of media on the current state of political unrest in the U.S. and the need for unity and open communication. Our conversation highlights the significance of listening to different perspectives and finding common ground, both in personal relationships and in business.

I attended a funeral this past weekend and it got me reflecting on death (yes, even more so than usual) and how important it is to make peace with our own mortality. In today’s episode, I share some of the conversation I had with my wife’s grandfather just a few days before he passed and explore the difference between happiness (what we think we’re after) and inner peace (what we’re truly searching for).
