We discuss why leadership can feel lonely, how transparency can be the first step out of shame and empowering your team, and how to tell if a merger or partnership may make sense for your business. Hallie also shares how Chiefs of Staff and Executive Assistants can take part in the thinking process of their leaders to help get them off that leadership iceberg. See full show notes.

This week, I share the four main lessons I’ve learned from my four decades of life. Hallie and I discuss both how to accept the deck of cards you’ve been dealt in life each day, and also to take inspired action towards building a life of work, learning, fun, and play. As leaders, our products are the decisions that we make that steer our organizations. So, how do you make the highest-quality decisions, day in and day out, regardless of distractions, whether from the outside world or your personal life? Cultivating emotional resilience is a huge part of the answer. This week, we talk about the benefits of emotional resilience, and how your ability to accept challenges and move forward is tied to your success as a leader. Hallie and I both share ways that we’ve built up our emotional resilience, and why you may not need to go too far out of your comfort zone to get started. See full show notes.
With what seemed like unfortunate timing, Jeramie Worley began his real estate career right before the housing bubble burst in 2008. Realtors who had been in the business for decades were going bankrupt, and the outlook for a future in real estate looked bleak. But rather than give up and move on to another career path, Jeramie hunkered down to discover where deals were still happening. He learned about vacation rentals and found a partner to invest with him in his first vacation unit to learn the business. At the same time, as a realtor, he was helping clients close deals and make passive income in vacation rental properties.
It all goes to show that it doesn’t matter what your focus is. You can build anything around your interests! Jeramie was passionate about helping people find the best investment, with the best return. His business grew with the now booming vacation rental market. He discovered these kinds of investments tend to be more recession-resistant as people learn to vacation smarter, even during a crisis, like the COVID-19 pandemic.
Grab a copy of Jeramie's book, do your research, and get started with vacation rental investing!
