The internet has been seen by many as a pit of unregulated and nefarious goings on. To this end, the UK government have published the Online Safety Bill, which they say will protect children and adults online, as well as make social media companies more responsible for their users’ safety.  Yet this bill is not without controversy, particularly around who will enforce the bill, free speech and privacy.

I discuss with Paul the details of the Online Safety Bill and what it means in practice the day before the bill is due to be read in the House of Lords for its third and final reading, in the House of Lords.
