Yes, today's story isn't about medicine, but about the detection of X-rays coming from Pluto. PLUTO! Not some exploding star or black hole or something violent and energetic, but cold, distant, lonely dwarf planet Pluto.

Wibbly-wobbly spacey-timey stuff.
The LIGO announcement was all woop-de-doos we’ve measured gravitational waves – because otherwise all they could have really announced was finding yet more evidence that black holes merge. When we do eventually get genuine observational evidence of what happened in the 400,000 years preceding the production of the cosmic microwave background – that will be quite a press release.

It turns out that nature figured out how to use electricity long before humans did. Lightning storms are common across the Earth, and even the Solar System. What causes this electricity in the sky, and how can science use it?

Today's 2 topics:
- Catalina Sky Survey's Richard Kualski discovered 2 asteroids. 2016 BA15 & the scarier 2016 BY14.
- Catalina's Steve Larsen discovered 2013 TX68. But with only 3 days of data, its orbit is not well known. This year we should find it again and pin its orbit down so we can asses the danger.
