Last week we talked about knowledge, what we do and don’t know. This week we talk about questions which are impossible to ask, where the answers don’t actually exist.
The YouTube clip Fraser talked about:
"No Edge: The Shape of the Universe."

Please help us keep training the trainers! Learning Space is a weekly G+ Hangout on Air about topics in astronomy education, outreach and other ways to share science both in the school setting and outside it. We bring you interviews, hands-on demonstrations, lists of our favorite educational resources and more!
We learn about the upcoming solar eclipse in Indonesia, and talks a bit about other eclipses. There's a big one coming up in August 2017 that cuts diagonally across the continental United States. Set your alarm!
Dr. Jay Myron Pasachoff is an American astronomer. Pasachoff is Field Memorial Professor of Astronomy at Williams College and the author of textbooks and tradebooks in astronomy, physics, mathematics, and other sciences.

We’ve had an abundance of news stories for the past few months, and not enough time to get to them all. So we’ve started a new system. Instead of adding all of the stories to the spreadsheet each week, we are now using a tool called Trello to submit and vote on stories we would like to see covered each week, and then Fraser will be selecting the stories from there. Here is the link to the Trello WSH page (http://bit.ly/WSHVote), which you can see without logging in. If you’d like to vote, just create a login and help us decide what to cover!
We record the Weekly Space Hangout every Friday at 12:00 pm Pacific / 3:00 pm Eastern. You can watch us live on Google+, Universe Today, or the Universe Today YouTube page.
You can also join in the discussion between episodes over at our Weekly Space Hangout Crew group in G+!

Space travel is hard.
Lifting humans into Earth orbit requires a large amount of energy to overcome the gravity that keeps us all pinned to the planet. Once there, they’re subject to the disorienting and sometimes debilitating effects of weightlessness. They’re peppered with cosmic rays and harmful ultraviolet radiation. Only a slender metal sheath separates them from the gut-busting vacuum outside.
Chris Impey is a Distinguished Professor of Astronomy at the University of Arizona. He most recent book, Beyond, covers the future of space travel and was published recently by Norton.

Paul Hill, Ralph Wilkins and Jenifer Millard host. Damien Phillips and John Wildridge produce.
For the beginners this month we take a look at perhaps the most recognisable constellation of them all: Ursa Major, the Great Bear. In the Great Bear we go hunting for the easiest binary star in the sky and a host of big bright galaxies.
Next Jeni rounds up the planets that are visible in December: Mars, Jupiter & ever more brief views of Saturn, before taking a look at this month’s moon phases – with a few conjunctions with Mars Saturn & bright star Antares.
Finally we take the unlitmate tour of easy and more difficult galaxies as we explore the rich bounty of the constellation Leo the Lion.

Gravity is something we mention a lot when talking about astronomy, because it plays such an important role in shaping our Universe. Gravity is a force that attracts all objects that have mass, toward each other. It's why we don't fall off the Earth even though it's round.
