  • Ways To Manage Your Mental Health In Challenging Times (especially right now)

    https://christianbaker.net/ways-manage-mental-health-challenging-times-especially-now

I’m struggling, it’s taking its toll, I’m bored, I just feel flat at the moment!

These are all things I’ve heard in the last week, as more and more people seem to be struggling with the ongoing pandemic and lockdown restrictions.

If you are struggling, know that it’s not just you, many are struggling and experiencing good days and bad days.

Myself included, quite a few times recently people have said to me, you must be ok, it’s alright for you, your house must be so calm and relaxed, I bet you’ve got the home schooling sorted.

The truth is, like you, I’m only human and I’ve had days where I’ve had my down days, with low energy and everything feels like a real effort and struggle!

This global pandemic and subsequent restrictions have been going on for nearly a year now.

So why are we finding it harder now?

There are a number of possibilities why....

We have been living under restrictions for a nearly a year.

It’s winter and not as easy as in the summer.

We’ve been connected to negative news (more than usual), for over a year,

Worries about the future are escalating, worry about finances, jobs, loved ones, health, education.

The ongoing juggle of working from home and home schooling.

Missing out on human interaction from not going to work, not seeing friends and family in person, social activities, going to the gym/sports clubs, holidays and days out, going to watch sports, visiting the cinema and theatre or whatever your chosen way is to spend your downtime.

And although there is positive news with the vaccine being rolled out, there is still no definite end in sight.

The accumulative effect of some of these factors are probably why nearly year on, so many people are finding it difficult.

With no real clear end in sight…

How can you manage your mental health during lockdown and beyond?

With over a year of negativity and restrictions, our mind’s ability to seek out pleasure and positivity has been supressed, leaving us feeling flat, sad, frustrated, bored, tired and often just a bit blah!

But imagine if it was possible to manage your mental health and retrain your mind during these difficult times, to focus and think differently, because you can!

First make sure you are taking care of the basics, that you are keeping hydrated, eating well, getting good sleep.

Now let’s look at some ways that you can help yourself cope better with lockdown, ways you can change your mindset and manage your mental health in challenging times.

    Be kind

Be kind to yourself, stop being hard on yourself, stop beating yourself up, stop comparing yourself to how well others are doing, or why you feel the way you do, when others who have it so much worse than you.

I’ve shared this quote and I’ve seen it do the rounds a few times during lockdown, which is worth remembering…

“We are not all in the same boat.

We are all in the same storm.

    Some are on Super-Yachts.

Some just have one oar.” Damian Barr

So be kind to yourself and be kind to others, it’s easy to judge and make comparisons, but we don’t really know if others are navigating the storm in a yacht, or simply treading water to keep afloat.

    Shift Your Focus

Take time everyday to focus and look for something good, or positive in your day. Ask yourself what are you grateful for, what have you enjoyed?. Do this on a daily consistent basis and it will help you retrain your mindset to look out for and pay more attention to the good things.

Also take time every day, to watch, to listen and tune into some good news, turn off and tune out from the negativity in your life, and tune into something that you find uplifting, encouraging and motivating, whether that be your favourite uplifting podcast, music, book, YouTube videos, comedy show, simply spend more time connecting to these sources.

    Recharge Yourself

I want you to think of your mental and emotional energy like a bank account, are you depositing any credit into it, or are you constantly withdrawing form it?

All the exposure to negativity, worry, stress, unknowns, lack of direction and routine, are all withdrawing from it, so maybe that’s why you feel like you are running on empty.

What can you do to keep your account topped up and in credit?

Here’s a few ideas to help get you started,

    - Get outside, and connect to your senses, notice what you see, hear, feel, smell and even taste.

    - Get active, go for a walk or a run, do some exercise at home, just get in the habit of being mor active.

    - Connect with people, even if you can’t in person, reach out, get in the habit of reaching to at least one person every day, send a text, ring someone, make a video call , say hi and have a catch up, it might just be what they needed but it will help you too.

    - Get out of your own head and be more present, stop thinking and worrying about the past and the future and spend more time in the moment, doing some breathing or mindfulness exercises can help, meditation and self-hypnosis is also great practice for this.

Many of these can overlap, which is great If you can stack them up to make then even more effective.

    For example;

Get outside and go for a run/walk

Get outside and go for a run/walk and connect to your senses, notice what you hear, see, feel, smell, taste.

Get outside and go for a walk with someone and catch up while you’re walking.

Watch your favourite comedy, while practicing some breathing exercises.

When I go for a walk in the morning, I like to do some breathing exercises, look up and come to my senses, reflect on what I’m grateful for and engage in some positive self-talk or affirmations.

Please remember we are all different, so do what works for you. I always encourage my clients to come up with a variety of different ways to help keep charged and where possible combine some together.

Like putting money in your account, doing it once or twice isn’t going to help long term, especially if you keep withdrawing from it regularly. So, look at reducing the withdrawals but also look at how many different ways you can put credit into you account and keep yourself charged up.

I like to call this mind fitness, what can you do to strengthen and maintain your mind fitness?

I hope this has given you some ideas for how you can help look after your mental wellbeing and cope better during lockdown and beyond.

There are lots of different ways, but hopefully this has given you a few ideas.

Feel free to leave a comment or get in touch and let me know what ideas you have taken from this episode, or let me know how you are coping with lockdown.

And if you know anyone who would benefit, please share this episode with them.

And if you’re thinking, or someone says, what’s the point of doing these things, what’s the point of changing your mindset.

Well, the point is, its good for your mental wellbeing, isn’t that a good enough point!

Simply do it for yourself, simply making some changes to your thoughts and feelings will make a positive impact to your overall wellbeing, do it and see what a difference it makes for you!

Remember what your mind believes you will achieve. So, believe yourself, take action and you can achieve the life and the goals that you want.

  • What Is Holding You Back From Achieving Your Goals - Do You Need To Do This?

Why Knowing What You Want Is Sometimes Not Enough!

Hi, I’m Christian Baker from https://christianbaker.net/ and The Achieve Podcast, sharing, inspiration, motivation, and encouragement to help you to think differently, to believe yourself more, so that you can take action to achieve a life and the goals that you want.

Have you ever felt frustrated because there's something that you want to change, or make happen, but you just don't seem to be able to do it, or at least stick to it consistently?

And that's because sometimes knowing what you want alone, isn't enough.

Now, I've talked in previous episodes about the importance of getting clear on what you want. And then also coming up with a game plan, an action plan for making it happen.

But even then, sometimes, we get frustrated because it doesn't seem to click, something doesn't quite fit together.

And that's because of our mindset, our thoughts, our feelings, our beliefs, our programming and conditioning is sometimes out of alignment with what we want.

It’s almost like we're running to out of date programming, our programming may have served us useful purpose or benefit once, but it may no longer be in alignment with the things that we want, for where we are in our life now.

So, that's where the frustration comes in, consciously we know we want to achieve something, we want to move forward, part of you wants to accomplish something. But there is another part that’s primary function is to preserve and protect us, that is keeping us stuck and fixed where we are.

Recognizing that is the first step in being able to change it. Once we are aware, then there are definitely things that you can do to help make it happen.

That's what I want you to take away from this episode, the realization that if you ever find yourself feeling as if you're held back, you're stuck and frustrated, then rest assured that it is possible that you can change your mindset and get your mindset in alignment with your actions, that will move you towards achieving the goals and the life that we want.

If you need some guidance and support, find yourself a coach or therapist that can assist you, or get in touch to see how I can help you upgrade your mindset .

But also know, there are some things that you can do yourself.

I've talked before about the importance of setting up daily habits, rituals, routines, behaviours. All of these are really important, but to get any real long last benefit, repetition is the key, you have got to do these on an ongoing consistent basis.

So, decide what you can do on a regular ongoing basis, that's going to help support you in moving you closer towards the goals and the actions that you would like come up with.

But remember doing it once isn't enough doing it a couple of times, isn't enough, doing it for a few weeks might help, but for ongoing long lasting change and transformation, it's got to become part of your automatic habits and behaviours, and that takes a quite a bit of time, repetition and perseverance to create on your own.

So again, if you might want to get some guidance and some help to make that happen for you. If you do want some extra assistance in learning how you can master your mind and help yourself to achieve the life and the goals that you want, feel free to register for my free “Master Your Mind”, mini video mini course, where I share with you the key principles behind mastering your mind, so that you can achieve in your life!

Simply visit my blog https://christianbaker.net/free-training/ to sign up to get yours.

Remember what your mind believes you will achieve. So, believe yourself, take action and you can achieve the life that you want.

And if you are frustrated, if you do feel as if you're up against something, just know, trust, believe that if you really want to make the change, it is absolutely possible for you to change your mindset.

And when you change your mindset, everything else will follow from there.

Go on, you can do it… now make it happen!

  • How Has Your Year Started - How To Create A Fresh Start In Life

    How Has Your Year Started?

Hi, this is Christian Baker from https://christianbaker.net/ and The Achieve Podcast, sharing inspiration, motivation, and encouragement to help you to think differently,

to develop your mindset, so you can believe yourself more, take action, and achieve the life and the goals that you want now.

Today is the 1st of February, it's the first day of a new week and a new month, and it's incredible to think where one month of 2021 complete already.

How has your 2021 starting out?

Have you made the progress that you would have liked to?

If you haven't, don't worry, you’re not alone and if you have, congratulations!

January can often be a bit of a strange month, even when we're not in the midst of a pandemic.

Often, people set themselves grand intentions, they have all kind of new year resolutions for the year to come and in truth, when people set new year's resolutions, it's usually only a couple of weeks in before they fall by the wayside. And certainly, by the end of January, most people have lost focus and knocked them on the head.

The reality is every day, every week, every month is a great new, fresh opportunity to refocus, to reset, to relearn and to move forward.

So, before you get caught up in the busyness of a new month, take a couple of moments and look back at any lessons, any learning's, any insights that you've gained that you want to take forward into the month ahead, and maybe take the opportunity to refocus and reprioritize.

And remind yourself that you’ve still got 11 months of the 2021 ahead of you.

    So, what can you do?

    How can you prepare yourself?

How can you prepare your mindset to ensure that you achieve the year that you want and maybe even have your best year yet?

And in the last couple of episodes, I've shared with you the importance of getting clear on what you want to achieve, then getting in habit of taking the time every day to focus on what it is that you want to accomplish and then creating a plan to make it happen. To devise an action plan of what you're going to do every day towards making that happen.

So, whether you reflect on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, don't leave it for something you only do once a year.

I think it’s incredible that people will spend more time planning their weekly shop, their annual holiday (when they could go on holiday) a night out, a home improvement project, then they do their own life.

So, take a couple of moments to think about, and really get clear on the possibility that if you can achieve anything in the year to come, what would you like to achieve?

If you visit the blog post that goes with this episode, I've created a 12 month overview download, that you can printout and fill out with the key things that you want to achieve every month.

If you could break down some of your bigger goals for the year down, that you would like to achieve, enjoy and accomplish into monthly actions, it can really help to have an overview of the next step to focus on that is going to help you make it happen.

Take a couple of moments to think about your bigger picture, your bigger vision for the year ahead, and then break that down into those smaller monthly tasks, and then set yourself a 28 day challenge, for every month.

Choose and decide, what one thing are you going to do this month to help make it happen.

What can you do this month next month that is going to move you forward?

What one action can you do every single day in that month that will move you forward to achieving the goals, the life, the habits that you want to achieve in your life.

Take the time to get clear on your next step for the brand new month, the brand new day a head, it’s fresh start, to take forward any learning's from the past and move forward with that clearer fresher focus so that you can make it happen!

Remember, what your mind believes you will achieve. So, think, differently, believe in yourself, take action, or you can achieve the goals and the life that you want. You've just got to make it happen.

Go on, you can do it!

    All the best

  • How To Achieve Your Goals - Take Action Every Day To Achieve Your Goals

In the previous two episodes, I've shared with you the importance of getting clear on what it is that you actually want, and then actually taking the time to focus on that every single day, in whatever way works for you.

Just deliberately take time to think to picture, to imagine, to focus on what it is that you actually want, the things you would like to enjoy, achieve, and accomplish in your life.

Now, if you do those two things, you're helping yourself tremendously, but thinking about what you want, alone isn't enough, you then need to start to take action towards making it happen.

So, in summary to help yourself make your goals happen, first you need to get clear, choose, decide what it is that you want. (Don't get caught up in the trap of getting stuck thinking about what you don't want all the time).

Then take time to reflect and focus on it every day and keep it fresh in your mind.

But once you've done that, then you have to take action towards making it happen.

Remember thinking alone is not enough.

So, what habits, what routines can you create and put into practice every day, towards making it happen?

Set your goals and then make a plan of action to Achieve Your Goals.

Decide what you need to do to help move you closer towards achieving your goals.

Don't get overwhelmed with the bigger picture of everything that you need to do to make it happen, instead break it down into small steps and ask yourself better questions.

    Ask yourself and focus on;

What's the one thing I can do today?

What's the next best thing I can do?

What is going to move me forward towards achieving the goals and the life that I want?

I've shared before the idea of every single month creating a 28-day challenge. A way of helping you every month to, to reset and decide what's most important to you. What is going to help you the most to move forward in making progress towards Achieving your goals.

Inside of my membership club, the Personal Best Membership Club, we have a Focus 30 every month, where members in the club set themselves their main focus for the next 30 days.

We look at the bigger picture of what we want to achieve, but then we say, well, okay, so now what do you want to do?

What can you do in the next 30 days?

What can you put into practice every day for the next 30 days, that will help move you closer to achieving what you want to achieve?

Then day-by-day the compounding effects of that daily action, it's going to help get you closer to it.

You've got a choice. You can either leave the time and your actions to chance and just hope that it happens, that life doesn't get in the way, and you don't get distracted by other events and other things in life.

Or you can set an intention, create a plan and choose what you are going to do every single day to make it happen for you!

It doesn't matter how big or small the action is, but that consistent action is what is going to help you break it down towards making it happen.

Whatever you set yourself, create some sort of habit tracker to tick it off every day, to monitor and record your progress. When your see and know your making progress this really helps build forward momentum.

Whether you make a note in your phone or on paper, whatever you need to do, just create a plan and then execute it and do something every single day towards making your goals happen.

This going to help you to achieve the life and the goals that you want.

So that's your action for today...

1 - Get Clear and decide what you want to achieve.

2 - Focus on it every day.

3 - Make a plan and take action every day towards making it happen.

You do these 3 easy steps right?

Remember what your mind believes you will achieve. So, think differently. Believe in yourself, take action, and you can achieve the life that you want.

  • Achieve Your Goals - Program Your Mind To Focus On What You Want

Achieve Your Goals - Program Your Mind To Focus On What You Want

And then do it every day.

In last week’s episode I asked you what you wanted to achieve in the next 12 months.

This is really important, before you achieve anything you have to decide and get clear on what you want to achieve,

Once you have decided I have a different question for you...

How much time, energy and focus did you give it over the last week, yesterday or even today?

By default, we tend to focus more on what we don't want too much, and subsequently we don't give enough (or any) focus on what we actually want.

We get more of what we focus on, so it's time to stop feeding and programming your mind for the things you don't want and start guiding and nurturing your mind towards the things you want to achieve, enjoy and experience.

So, if you haven't already get really clear and focused on what you actually want and then

make the commitment to focus on it every day. Simply choose sometimes throughout the day to intentionally focus on it. Maybe you have your goals written down, or a vision board to represent your life goals, maybe you practice daily meditation, some mindful breathing, or visualisation.

Whatever works for you, tale time everyday to think, picture, imagine and review your goals everyday.

Think of your mindset, like the frequency of a radio, or a channel of a TV, if you were watching or listening to something you weren’t enjoying, or something somebody else was tuned into it, but you didn't like it, would you keep watching it?

No, you'd probably stop it, turn it over, or turn it off.

So, stop playing the mind movies of the things you don't want and start tuning and nurturing your mind every day, towards the things you do want.

Imagine in your mind you have your own GPS system, you have to instruct it for where you want it to go, it's no good keep telling it where you don't want it to go!

  • What Do You Want To Achieve In 2021?

What Do You Want To Achieve in 2021?

    Do you have any goals?

    Did you set any resolutions?

2021 may already be under way, but it’s never too late to get focused and set your intentions for what you are going to Achieve in 2021.

I'm not a huge fan of new year resolutions, as they tend to be a bit vague and half-hearted and then people wonder why they don’t succeed.

But I am a fan of goal setting, for making the decision to commitment to achieving something that you desire.

When you have a target and a goal to aim for, you can focus with intention towards making it happen, otherwise you’re just leaving your time, you focus, your actions to chance.

Think of all the different sports with goals, or targets, well imagine if the took those away, they’d just be running around with no purpose and nothing to aim for.

So, you can decide if you’re going to live your year, your life, with focused intention or leave it to chance.

Any day is a good day to focus and decide what you would like to achieve in the next 12 months.

Some people like to do it at the start of the year, do it on their birthdays.

    It doesn’t matter if it’s a special day, or a random day on the calendar, whatever day you are ready to get clarity and focus, ask yourself;

    Where am I currently heading?

What would I like to achieve in the next 12 months?

What’s my primary target/goal that I want to Achieve?

    21 for 2021.

To help you get started I’ve created a 21 for 2021 printable for you to write down at least 21 things you would like to achieve in 2021.

Visit http://christianbaker.net/blog/what-do-you-want-to-achieve-in-2021 to grab your copy.

Take a couple of minutes to write down 21 things you would like to accomplish, enjoy or experience in 2021.

It’s not limited to 21, I have a client that every year between Christmas and New Year who writes a list of 100 goals for the new year. Others like to come up with a number relating to that year’s birthday for example 40 for 40 or 50 for 50.

Whatever number you choose, however you choose to do it, whatever you choose to focus on, the most important thing is, whether or not you will decide to give yourself some goals to work towards, or if you’re just going to leave your accomplishments in 2021 to chance.

It’s always worth remembering the time is going to pass anyway, why not choose to focus with some purpose and enjoy the time, knowing you are getting closer to the goals, the life and the outcomes that you desire!

    In 2021 we all...

    12 months

    52 weeks

    365 days

    8760 hours

    525,600 minutes

Even with the current uncertainty in the world, how will you make 2021 count?

Imagine what you would like to achieve by this time next year.

If you really want to achieve something, make the decision, write it down, and then commit to taking daily consistent action towards making it happen.

Visit http://christianbaker.net/blog/what-do-you-want-to-achieve-in-2021 to print off the printable and write down your list of the 21 goals you are looking forward to achieving in 2021.

Feel free to share your 21 goals with me, I’d love to hear what you have planned.

You never know, you could even make 2021 your best year yet!

Wishing you all the best for an amazing 2021,

  • What To Do When Life Keeps Getting In The Way Of Your Goals

Does Life Keep Getting In The Way Of Your Goals - What To Do When Life Throws Obstacles In The Way Of Your Goals

Do you ever feel like everything is against you, that that life keeps throwing curve balls and obstacles your way?

Because life can feel like that sometimes and I often get reminded by this when I watch the TV show, I'm a celebrity get me out of here. It was on the other day and they were doing the cyclone challenge.

I'm not sure if you've seen it, but basically, it's an obstacle course, where they have to go up this hill and they're being bombarded with jets of water, balls and all sorts of things get thrown at them, high powered wind is launched in their direction.

And life can sometimes feel like it's a bit of an uphill struggle and we're being bombarded from different directions. But, although we can't always control those external events, even when it does feel like life is conspiring against us, we still have choices that we can make.

You can give up, you can re-evaluate, and if it's not the right path for you, then get off, and change direction, but either way there are choices to be made.

If you are on the path that you want to be on, if you are working towards achieving something that you really, really want to achieve, then when it feels difficult, stop, pause, do something that allows you to recharge, to catch your breath, to dig deep, to find an extra gear and keep going.

When I've been on the treadmill before, doing some high intensity intervals sprints, I get it on the steepest incline and the highest speed I can manage and do 20-30 secs full sprint. Then in between I stand on the side for 10 - 20 seconds rest, and even when I'm resting, the treadmill is still going at what feels like a million miles an hour underneath me.

This is the same in life, life can continue at the high pace that it is, but we can get off and have a rest and recharge, even if it's just momentarily.

So, ask yourself if this is definitely something that you want to be working towards, how can you help yourself look after yourself to recharge, to pause and just reboot, because if we're not taking care of ourselves, things can sometimes seem worse than they are.

Whereas on another day, when we're fully charged, when we're on it, when we're firing on all cylinders, not only do we have the strength and the ability to plough through and keep going, but it also feels much easier and effortless.

So, it's really important that you take the time to not only re-evaluate to make sure you're on the right path, but to ensure you're doing everything you can to keep yourself charged and fuelled to make it happen.

Now I've taken clients through an exercise many, many times over the years, and I get them to think about exactly what we're talking about today. I remember talking to a client once and he was going through his problems and the predicament he was in. And I said, if you imagine it’s like an assault course, what options, what choices, what can you do?

And very quickly he said, "well, I could just get off and walk around here".

Sometimes that's what we need to do, we would benefit if we stopped and took a moment to look up, to change perspective and just see if there's a better way of doing things.

If there is, then go in that direction, you don't always have to keep going at a million miles an hour feeling up against it.

It may be that right around you, somewhere nearby, just ahead of you, just to the side, you can find a way through, around, over or under any perceived obstacles that may be in your way.

    So, ask yourself;

Is there anything you can do?

Is there a simpler way of getting to where you want to be?

    Whenever you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, like life keeps putting obstacles in the way of your goal, I want you to do these three things;

1 - Take time to reflect. Do you really want to achieve the outcome, the goals that you're working towards?

If so, then, then find the best way of doing it. And if not change direction

2 - Recharge, are you currently fully charged? Could you help yourself? Could you pause for a moment? Could you take a deep breath and then go again?

If so, do whatever you can to help yourself.

3 - Refocus and Re-evaluate, from time to time just refocus and ask yourself, is there a better or simpler way?

Either way, whatever situation you're in, whatever you're working towards. Remember you do have a choice, to stop, or find a way to keep going and make it happen.

Whatever you do, ensure that you look after yourself along the way.

  • Finish The Year Strong

How will you finish 2020 Strong?

What will you achieve in the next 28 days?

I have a question for you today...

What would you like to achieve and accomplish in the next 28 days?

At the time of recording we're about to begin the last month of 2020, and it's certainly been a very strange, challenging and uncertain time for so many people.

It's certainly been a reminder that we can’t always change and control external factors, we can't change all the things that happen around us.

But the one thing we can do, is change the way we allow ourselves to react and respond to it and we can always develop ourselves.

So, regardless of when you're listening to this, take a couple of moments and ask yourself,

What would you like to personally achieve and accomplish in your life?

If you could end the year on a high, if you could set yourself a challenge for the next 28 Days, what would you like to accomplish?

Maybe you have particular target you want to achieve.

Maybe there's a goal you want to accomplish before the end of year.

Maybe you want to enjoy a bit more inner a peace and calmness in your life.

Maybe you want to generate calmer and happier feelings.

Maybe you want to get on top of your eating habits.

Maybe you want to work on some personal development and develop a habit or routine, something that's just going to benefit you as you move forward.

Or maybe you want to take this wonderful opportunity, while so many people are unwinding towards Christmas and the end of the year, to prepare yourself and get yourself ready for the fresh new year ahead, so you can kick start the year and hit the ground running, and help prepare yourself make your 2021 the best year yet.

Whatever you want to do, take a couple moments, to think about it, to choose, to decide, then make a plan, commit to it.

The idea of the 28 day challenge, is for you to simply set yourself a daily challenge to do one thing every single day, that's going to move you closer towards accomplishing the goal that you want to achieve.

So, first decide, choose, make a plan and then do something every single day, that's going to move you closer to it.

It doesn't matter how big or small it is, but take the pressure off yourself and make the commitment to just do one thing every day, that's going to help you to make it happen.

So, think about what action you can take everyday for the next 28 days, that will kickstart your momentum, and get you in the right mindset with the habits and routines to move you forward to make it happen.

    Then make it happen!

The time's going to pass anyway, you can either leave it to chance, or choose to decide to do something productive with the time, that's going to have a personal benefit and a positive impact for you.

Remember what your mind believes you will achieve, so think differently, believe in yourself, take action, and you can achieve the life and the goals that you want.

Go on make the next 28 day count for you and your life!

  • How Is Your Mind Fitness - How To Improve Your Mental Wellness

    https://christianbaker.net/blog/hows-your-mind-fitness

Would you like to improve your mental wellness?

Would you like to be the best that you can be?

One thing about mindset is, that so many people don't realize that it's something that you can improve and enhance. I think it's viewed often as something that's very static, something that's very black and white, something that you've either got, or you haven't, something that's positive or negative.

Yet the truth is, your mindset should be approached in the same way as your physical health and fitness, which is why I often call it mind fitness.

So, I encourage you to view your mindset in the same way as your physical fitness, something that can be worked on and improved.

What I mean is that if you wanted to improve your physical fitness, if you wanted to become fitter and healthier, you wouldn't eat well for a day or a week or two.

You wouldn't go for a walk, or a run, you wouldn't go to the gym once, twice or a few times, or even for a couple of weeks, and then expect that to be sufficient for the rest of your life. And your mindset is exactly the same.

You should view your mind fitness, the same as you do your physical fitness.

So, what I encourage you to do today, is look at how you can incorporate different activities, I call these lifestyle strategies, into your day-to-day life. Activities and time to help keep your mindset in optimum fitness.

It's important to recognize that you're only human. If you're a man, if you're a woman, if you're a child, if you're a human being, then you're not indestructible, you're not invincible, you're not immune to be an effective by the stresses, the strains, the demands of day-to-day life.

Your mental wellness can and will get impacted as you go through different things in your day to day life.

So, to best help yourself, approach it by incorporating some lifestyle strategies as a preventative, to help keep your mind fitness as strong, as sharp, as balanced as you possibly can.

There are so many different things you can do, things that you enjoy doing, things that help you to unplug, to disconnect, to recharge, to refocus.

I often saying to my clients, you wouldn't let your phone run out of charge, so don't allow yourself to run out of charge.

So, what things can you do?

There are the obvious things, like sleeping well, eating well, physical activity absolutely impacts your mental fitness. They're the obvious things that most people pay attention to, but look at all the different things that you can do to keep your mindset in tip top condition.

And if you're not feeling a hundred percent, ask yourself, is there anything you can do to help yourself?

Check in with yourself and check if you've been doing things consistently to keep your mindset in a good place.

Then if you do notice that you're not feeling a hundred percent, or as well as you'd like to, check if you've put these things in place to help your mental wellness.

And if you do these things consistently, on a regular basis, it's going to be much easier for you to call upon them, if you need to give yourself a bit of a boost and a bit of a lift.

Your action today is to get a pen and paper, or a journal, look at your life and ask yourself, is there any more you could do to help keep yourself as mentally fit as you possibly can?

And if not, look at some of the things you could do and write some of your ideas down. These could be simple things, I'm not suggesting you have to go meditate for hours on end, although meditation is absolutely an effective tool to use.

You could incorporate mindfulness, breathing exercises, reading, going for a walk, getting outside in nature.

Any things that you like doing, listening to music, watching some box sets that allow you some escapism, anything that you feel allows you to get off that treadmill, that hamster wheel of day-to-day life, plug into your charger and just give you a bit of a reboot, a bit of a refocus and a bit of a recharge.

So, if you would like to help yourself to become as mentally fit as you possibly can, then you've got to be consistent with it.

Have a look at what you're doing, have a look at what you can do and make it happen.

Remember what your mind believes you will achieve, so allow yourself to think differently, believe in yourself, take action, and you can achieve the life and the mental fitness that you would like for you.

Go on, see what you can do to help yourself be as mentally strong as you possibly can.
