Between the classes, tests, teachers, and memories school brings up a variety of emotions and invokes a source of creativity and imagination. 

From Alice Cooper to Jackson 5, there’s a diverse range of artists and genres that have school related songs and we’ll discuss the top 10 songs inspired by the classroom and some of their meanings.

On this very special Mother’s Day Episode, I have my very own mother joining us as she shares her varying taste of music that influenced my taste. She talks about growing up in the 80s; we discuss when MTV emerged and offered a new experience  where artists could express their music visually. She talks about getting backstage at Bon Jovi, seeing the original members of INXS, lying to her Mom to watch Prince’s music videos and successfully getting Taylor Swift tickets after the whole ticket debacle.

Another year of Coachella and this year it went out with a bang:

After headliner Frank Ocean pulled the plug on his weekend two performance following the mishap regarding weekend one, the festival announced it would replace him with none other than Blink -182 and a surprise guest that would make up for the negative press.

As rumors began to circulate, it was finally announced that Skrillex, Fred Again & Four Tet would fill in the TBA Sunday slot & close the weekend.

The dynamic trio generated headlines earlier this after an awe-inspiring performance at Madison Square Garden that included a crowd of over 20,000 fans. Their set received so much hype and notoriety, it was hard to ignore their legendary status.

Luckily, the DJ set reclaimed the disappointed fans and put to use the abandoned skating rink Ocean was set to use in his main stage performance. 

Between the variety of incredible musicians, surprise guests and the post 9 year reunion set of Blink -182, the festival was an overall a success and brought happiness to Coachella fans.

It’s been 50 years since Pink Floyd has released one of their most prolific albums that has held strong amongst other best selling albums like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” & The Beatles “The Beatles”.

The Dark Side of the Moon is synonymous with mind-altering experiences and the conspiracy it syncs up with the entire film, The Wizard of Oz.

But the album itself, coincidentally, is a mind trip as it explores the lighter and darker emotions heavily influenced by their own tribulations as a band.

On todays episode, we discuss the creation and inspiration of this iconic album- and the message it bears.

It’s been 15 years since the legendary Daft Punk took their world famous Alive tour & turned it into an album.

Since announcing their split two years ago, their fans have been aching in melancholy and reminiscent of the days when the robots graced us with their divergent sound that somewhat teetered the line between late nights at Studio 54 & a virus that infiltrated your software.

But are they truly over for good?

Not much is known about the duo who’ve kept their humanness much under wraps and guised themselves as robots which further adds to their prestige & mystique.

The fact is, Daft Punk altered history and created a revolution that would change the landscape of entrancing audio/visual experiences and a surge of sub genres born from the influence of their tracks.

Today, we will take a look at the story of how they came to be, becoming robots, and their lengthy, award winning career enveloped by secrecy that has perpetuated them into global icons and massive success.
