The 90s had many significant pop culture influences that defined the decade. One of them was the trend of teen horror flicks which included a dark story line, a killer of some sort, a main character who survives the entire film and of course, a scream queen.

These movies also included a myriad of Hollywood’s finest heart throbs & “it” girls of its generation.

Many of these movies have become cult favorites but their soundtracks are just as unique and memorable as the films.

My good friends Jen & Jenn join me on this episode to talk about some of our favorite teen horror movies, the soundtracks, and the scenes & songs that never left our heads.

The emotional Taylor Hawkins Tribute show just finalized and the set list featured some of the most coveted musicians ranging from a multitude of generations & genres.

His epic send off emphasized his impact on the music industry but it’s hard to imagine the Foo Fighters without him.

Led Zeppelin and The Who are two of the most prominent bands who also lost their drummers during the height of their success. Their drummers were considered two of the best in rock music and have greatly influenced some of the most famous drummers today.

On this week’s episode, I’ll break down the importance of a great drummer. A great drummer helps mold an incredible band while collaborating, recording, and performing live. It takes a certain person to fill that role.

I will also talk a little bit about the lives of Hawkins, Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham and The Who’s Keith Moon.

Director Baz Luhrmann has been entertaining audiences for years with his

esquistly vibrant cinematography, elaborate landscapes and drawing his viewers into his beautifully complex characters and their often heartbreaking narratives.

Coming off the heels of his highly anticipated release ‘Elvis’, we will explore the strong musical emphasis of his films such as Romeo + Juliet, The Great Gatsby & Moulin Rouge and also  discuss the memorable songs & soundtracks that are just as equally renowned as his films.

I will also discuss Beyoncé & Drake’s house tracks/albums, Machine Gun Kelly’s documentary Life in Pink & the recent casting for Madonna’s biopic.

After purchasing my tickets 3 years ago, I was finally able to attend Boston Calling.

Since that time, the headliners have changed dramatically due to the pandemic and after the death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

The Strokes unfortunately had to bail due to a positive Covid test and the elusive Nine Inch Nails closed the stage Friday and Saturday.

The festival was amazing and a portal of nostalgia, seeing the likes of Metallica, Weezer, Avril Lavigne & Cheap Trick.

The set list also included some more modern artists like Earth Gang, Rufus Du Sol, Haim & The Black Pumas. Needless to say, it was fabulous.

This podcast also celebrates its 1st full year and I cry my eyes out (LITERALLY) in gratitude for the happiness I feel in regards to its creation, my incredible guests and my devoted audience.
