Today I bring on my good friend Brian, the ultimate film enthusiast, and we talk about some of the quintessential film soundtracks along with his main love, film scores. We talk about the impact music has on filmmaking, important scenes AND dissect some of our favorite scenes that create “that”moment.

FYI - We ended up talking about Tarantino (couldn’t help it).

Piggy-backing off my MTV episode last week, I requested my friend Jen to join me to talk about our most favorite shared set: Alice In Chains Unplugged which premiered 25 years ago and also celebrate the late singer Layne Staley’s birthday on August 25th.

We are both huge Layne Staley fans & we both wanted to give him the story he deserves. His life has sometimes been overshadowed by other great rock stars & their addictions, but his story isn't just about addiction- it's a tragic love story.

Jen’s story is also heartbreaking and I was MOVED to know what an impact this band had on her life. The common thread she shared with Layne was trauma. The correlation between artist and fan is a common one. I mean, Britney’s fans are ultimately freeing her - see the effect?

We also talk about the days she attended Warped Tour, seeing Karen O & The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, her love of Connie Francis and her journey heading to her first 3 day music festival situated in an old mill.
