The AMPire Diaries

The AMPire Diaries Episode 40: “Into the Wild” | “Down the Rabbit Hole”

This week, your favorite Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast is continuing on our Vampire Diaries Season 4 journey with “Into the Wild” (Season 4, Episode 13) and “Down the Rabbit Hole” (Season 4, Episode 14). That means:

- We open with… Diego Luna.

- This season’s Mary Sue.

- “Fountain of Cure.”

- Trevino deserves better than what the show does for Tyler.

- Someone who ISN’T JILL is sick of flashbacks!!

- Morgan’s mic drop.

- Stunning accent work.

- Scar Club.

“MYSTERIOUS ISLAND” (“Into the Wild”)

“CHARLIE BEWLEY FROM ‘TWILIGHT’ GUEST STARS AS ONE OF THE FIVE HUNTERS” (“Down the Rabbit Hole”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? The last one is so long that it’s funny, so 5 stars for Charlie Bewley as Mr. Galen Vaughn. (You can all tell when Jill writes these, can’t you?

Whether you’re a Vampire Diaries obsessive or newcomer, join along with hosts LaToya Ferguson (@lafergs—Vampire Diaries obsessive), Morgan Lutich (@LorganMutich—Vampire Diaries obsessive), and Jill Defiel (@jiilbobaggins—Vampire Diaries newcomer) on their new podcast journey. The AMPire Diaries Episode 39: “Catch Me If You Can” | “A View to a Kill”

This week, your favorite Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast is continuing on our Vampire Diaries Season 4 journey with “Catch Me If You Can” (Season 4, Episode 11) and “A View to Kill” (Season 4, Episode 12). That means we’re talking:

- How Jill would’ve reacted to Season 4 had she watched it live.

- The new meaning of “ACAB.”

- The Atticus Shane of this podcast.

- Steven.

- Everyone’s favorite (?) ship: Kennett.

- Ally McBeal, the show we’d rather be podcasting about.

“A NEW DANGER” (“Catch Me If You Can”)

“DANGEROUS LIAISONS” (“A View to a Kill”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Neither are great, but the one for “A View to Kill” is something neither Morgan nor LaToya can spell, so… Sure, it’s also the title of a previous episode (which is how we know we can’t spell it), but “A NEW DANGER” has been used in Vampire Diaries loglines at least twice before. So again: so….

That means we’re talking:

- THE INFAMOUS TANK TOP.

- Meeting Bonnie’s Dad.

- Michael Chasin’s sire bond takes.

- Bonnie…. are you okay?

- The number 12 being VERY specific.

- The return of “d-d-dead wife.”

- Morgan... is very much Not Okay.

- The Trust Rankings.

- Klaus! With! Sword!

- Freaking Sesame Street.

- On the record: LaToya complimenting Kol.

- And the most wild BOY CORNER yet!

“A WINTER WONDERLAND IN MYSTIC FALLS” (“O Come, All Ye Faithful”)

“REBEKAH IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE” (“After School Special”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Obviously “After School Special.” Did you not hear? REBEKAH is BACK with a VENGEANCE!!!

The AMPire Diaries Episode 36: “The Killer” | “We All Go A Little Mad Sometimes”

AMPies, we’ve been warning you… Season 4 has arrived, which also means the arrival of loooong episodes. The latest episode of The AMPire Diaries is here: And look, it is LONG. This week, your favorite Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast is continuing on our Vampire Diaries Season 4 journey with “The Killer” (Season 4, Episode 5) and “We All Go A Little Mad Sometimes” (Season 4, Episode 6). That means we’re talking:

- The Atlanta Woods, Italy.

- Has anyone seen Rebekah?

- The desperation of wishing Atticus Shane was more like Riley Finn from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

- Counting red flags, not to be confused with counting blue cars.

- Stefan Salvatore’s School of Reasons.

- The importance of showrunners and difficulties of casting.

- Dangerous, baby!

- Ground bracelets being terrible gifts.

- Has Klaus been to the moon?

- Jeremy going Full Dawn.

- T-KLAUS <3 (We’re still not over T-Klaus.)

“THE HUNTER’S MARK” (“The Killer”)

“ELENA’S NEW NIGHTMARE” (“We All Go A Little Mad Sometimes”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? We guess “Elena’s New Nightmare” since we’re beginning our own nightmare in Season 4. (Hehe. Jill funny.)

Alright, AMPies. You’ve waited patiently—well, maybe not “patiently,” but you have waited—and now the latest episode of The AMPire Diaries is here. This week, your favorite Vampire Diaries rewatch-slash-first-time watch (and mostly spoiler-free) combination podcast is continuing on our Vampire Diaries Season 4 journey with “The Rager” (Season 4, Episode 3) and “The Five” (Season 4, Episode 4). That means we’re talking:

- Does Tyler Lockwood deserve rights?

- Getting edged by movies.

- The Sisterhood of the Australian Mermaid Curse (aka H2O: Just Add Water).

- KEG. STANDS.

- LaToya and Morgan discuss Angel. (Before Morgan became co-host of Angel on Top!)

- “Oh great, and now the motorcycle scene.”

- The surprising Messiah of the Dog People.

- Our undying love for Meredith Fell.

“BORN TO BE WILD” (“The Rager”)

“A FRAT PARTY AND A FLASHBACK TO 12TH CENTURY ITALY” (“The Five”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Step aside, Steppenwolf. “The Five” has a logline that sounds like it could be a Fall Out Boy song title. (Can you tell yet that Jill wrote this week’s show notes?)

The AMPire Diaries Episode 34: “Growing Pains” | “Memorial”

AMPies, we are in Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries now. Please clap. And guess what? We recorded these episodes—“Growing Pains” (Season 4, Episode 1) and “Memorial” (Season 4, Episode 2)—during one of those “fun” Los Angeles heatwaves, so please bear with us as you listen to the heat seep into our brains in real time. So, what are our soup brains talking this week? Well...

- "Heightened."

- The "jacked little boy" image that haunts Morgan.

- Damo reaching critical piss baby levels.

- T-Klaus, aka the horniest we’ve been since Sage.

- Punch cards.

- The TVD cast as Klaus Mikaelson.

- A good number of visual bits that don’t translate to the audio medium.

- Another perfect Damo plan.

- Standalone episode ideas for Bonnie.

- Connor Jordan, an attractive man.

- Grumpy Old Boys.

- "Nice ink."

- And even the new P’s (previouslies).

“ELENA'S WORST NIGHTMARE” (“Growing Pains”)

“A NEW DANGER COMES TO TOWN” (“Memorial”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Sorry to Elena’s worst nightmare, but there’s a new danger in town. “Memorial,” it is.

The AMPire Diaries Episode 33: “Before Sunset” | “The Departed” (feat. Michael Chasin)

AMPies, it is here. We finally have a new (and of course, quite long) episode for you. And what do you know? It’s the Season 3 finale! *airhorn sound* Finally, we are discussing—with the help of resident boy, Michael Chasin (@MichaelChasin)—“Before Sunset” (Season 3, Episode 21) and “The Departed” (Season 3, Episode 22). But what exactly are we talking?

Look, it’s a long episode that’s been a long time coming: We talk about A LOT.

“A DAY WITHOUT A VAMPIRE” (“Before Sunset”)

“THE SECRET HERO” (“The Departed”)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Honestly, neither is good—and “A DAY WITHOUT A VAMPIRE” doesn’t actually make good on that promise—but “Before Sunset” definitely wins over "The Departed” in this particular case.

The AMPire Diaries Episode 32: “Heart of Darkness” | “Do Not Go Gentle”

AMPies, we have a new (very long) episode for you!!! And we are discussing (at length) “Heart of Darkness” (Season 3, Episode 19) and “Do Not Gentle” (Season 3, Episode 20). More specifically, here’s what we’re talking:

- The worst thing a white woman can say over and over again. (Spoiler alert: It’s “sisters.”)

- Jill's true Klaus feelings.

- The one-seasons ABC series Selfie.

- Our desire to have Rebekah attend a high school dance.

- Rose, baby!

- Our old friend, Bloodybecky.

- The podcast’s #1 Jeremy stan.

- No more bits, starting in the Season 3 finale.

- Jill's guess for the Big Bad of Season 5.

- Jeremy's “Ghosts to Fuck” list.

- TyTy v. Horsey: Dawn of Alphas.

- The stans that we fear.

- Rebesther.

- Girl Dates. (‘Cause they're freaky like that.)

- Damo's interesting negotiation tactics.

- Bonnie's sex life.

- LaToya's poor pinky finger.

- BONNIE HAS A HOUSE.

Listen as we go from tired and goofy to tired and sad. It’s gradual, but it happens!

“TYLER RETURNS TO MYSTIC FALLS” (“Heart of Darkness”)

“WHAT THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER” (“Do Not Go Gentle)

The more AMPED logline this time around? Obviously, for Jill’s sake: We gotta go with “Heart of Darkness.”

AMPies, Legacies has returned for its third season, and your AMPie Queens, LaToya Ferguson (@lafergs) and Morgan Lutich (@LorganMutich), are here to discuss it week-to-week. Joining them in this journey is none other than The AMPire Diaries’ own resident boy, Michael Chasin (@MichaelChasin). No Jills allowed. [Okay, Jills slightly allowed. Jill Defiel (@jiilbobaggins) will have a corner every week. She just won’t be allowed to listen to anything else in the episode.]

The AMPire Diaries: Legacies will be a Patreon-exclusive podcast for our $5 (Vampire) and $10 (Original) tiers, but because we love our AMPies so much, we’re also releasing this premiere episode on the main feed. As a treat.
