Kiel Christianson has the job everyone wants. No, not the one in Linguistic Psychology with advanced degrees from Michigan State and UMass, Amhurst. No, the one where he travels the world, playing golf, reviewing courses and getting paid! Yeah, that gig. To say we are jealous would be a vast understatement. The dude played a round in Finland at midnight on the Summer Solstice. He played in Ireland in rain and 34 degrees. Kiel has seen the best sights, eaten the best meals and played some of the best courses in the world and on this episode he tells us all about it.Support the show

We spend some time with Tony Casillas, former defensive stud for the Dallas Cowboys. The man has two large hands, each with a Superbowl Ring. His hands may be large, but they are soft. Yes, Mr. soft hands is killer on the golf course. He carries a 6 handicap but still won't play with Romo. Listen this week to some fun, funny, entertaining conversation with Tony Casillas of the Dallas Cowboys on The Approach Shot Podcast.Support the show

This week on The Approach Shot Podcast we feature conversations with author Jim Flynn. Now don’t get confused (like we did). There are 5 other authors on Amazon named Jim Flynn, so ours calls himself Jim Flynn Six. Jim comes from the world of finance so that’s the setting for what he calls his Financial Thrillers”. J.R. is the main character. J.R. is an avid golfer and a terrific golfer, even playing at Augusta with Jack Nicklaus as his partner (it was a very bad year for Jack). So, Jim’s first book: “Be Sincere: Even When You Don’t Mean It” is not only a hilarious read, but words to live by. Check out Jim’s website, jimflynnsix.com and listen to this week’s episode of The Approach Shot Podcast.Support the show

This week on The Approach Shot Podcast we spend some quality time talking to PGA Tour Pro, Max Homa. We talked together on the eve of the Travelers Tournament in Connecticut so we didn’t know then that, unfortunately, he would miss the cut this week. After hearing this dude and realizing how funny he is, we will start rooting for him on a regular basis.Support the show

This week on The Approach Shot Podcast we feature a guest from the art world. Linda Hartough (hartough.com) is the country’s preeminent Golf Landscape Artist. Her original landscapes of Augusta National, Torrey Pines, Pebble Beach and others are hanging on the walls of The Butler Cabin, Jack Nicklaus’s house, and many other homes of golf’s greats. She talks about golf, art, and we try to figure out just how many shades of green there are in nature. We also debut a new comedy feature: “Who Should of Sung It?” An indescribably delicious few minutes of adlibbed improvisational comedy. Or, at least, an attempt there at. Another great hour of stories, entertainment and conversation on The Approach Shot Podcast.Support the show

The Approach Shot Podcast this week is a banner episode. First, we welcome Mike Timlin, the relief pitcher for the Boston Red Sox that helped them win their first World Series in 2004. We talk about that for a bit. Have you ever noticed John is a rabid Red Sox fan? Mike is also an avid golfer and we talk to him at length about his golf game, about the similarities between golf and other sports, and the psychological approach to both. John and Mike found they have something in common: both of their mothers passed away from ALS and they promise to throw a golf tournament charity fund raiser for the cause. Listen to find out how to participate. This week’s Golf Is A Funny Game segment is fantastic! I mean, this is the funniest one we’ve done yet. Bert Hart joins us along with his friend Mike with a C and we slug it out with another Bad Jokes And Dad Jokes competition. You can’t miss this.Support the show
