Let's Talk Business

The Art of Being Remarkable in Your Business with Guy Kawasaki

Listen Later

What exactly is a Chief Evangelist?

In business, we’ve embraced the idea that customers can be evangelists, but it's important to remember that employees and business builders can be evangelists too.

Our guest, Guy Kawasaki, is the Chief Evangelist at Canva, a title that he explains can only work if the product can change the world—or at least a significant part of it. He’s the host of the Remarkable People Podcast, an executive fellow of the Haas School of Business (UC Berkeley), author of 15 popular books, and an adjunct professor of the University of New South Wales. As a former revolutionary at Apple, Guy popularized the concept of evangelizing in the technology business, and his ideas behind this concept have spread like wildfire.

In our interview, he tells us how to evangelize products and services by providing valuable content to the target audience. The key is to define “valuable” as something that can make their life better, as opposed to increasing your sales and profits. He discusses his journey of how he went from schlepping jewelry, to working closely with Steve Jobs at Apple, to ultimately impacting millions on a daily basis through the art of evangelism.

You won’t want to miss this inspiring and thought-provoking episode.
