Does the Art of Grateful Leadership podcast make a difference?
This is always something on the mind of the host.
When Judy Umlas found out that we were heading to the 100th podcast she got very excited. And when Judy gets excited, it’s contagious
Let me give you some examples of what happens when Judy asked people about the 100th Episode Celebration podcast.
Over the last week or so, a number of accolades have been received from the Art of Grateful Leadership listeners.
This podcast is filled with listener feedback. Come in and listen...

Can you acknowledge someone at the point they first interact with you? Before you have really had any conversation or effect on you?
You probably do this more than you think.
What reminded me of this was an interaction with a chat person from Walt Disney World. She started the chat, before we did anything with her name and …” can I spread some pixie dust and make your stay enjoyable?” The beginning of the interaction made you feel special, Got you thinking about what was on the horizon, about to begin.
We do the same thing when we see someone that we know will bring adventure or enjoyment into our lives.
Let's talk about this a bit...

Do you know that acknowledgment is a two-way street?
The art of accepting an acknowledgment should be practiced too.
It is simple, but as they say, simple is not always easy.
We are all Acknowledgment Ambassadors spreading the Acknowledgment Message and Its Importance in today’s world and, into the future. But each of us can feel uncomfortable in receiving an acknowledgment
Let's take a closer look at this...

Welcome to the Art of Grateful Leadership podcast.
One of the greatest aspects of being mentored is when the mentor looks deeply and gives the mentee a couple words to take their message to the next level.
Most of the time, it isn’t anything new, it’s just the right time to be heard again.
I had that experience this week when the author of The Power of Acknowledgment and Grateful Leadership: Using the Power of Acknowledgment to Engage All Your People and Achieve Superior Results, Judith W. Umlas stopped me with just a few words.
What were those words?

Each of us has those people in our life that has made a profound impact on their career
Have you ever thought of acknowledging them?
I think I told everyone about the manager I acknowledged 20+ years after he fired me
People probably have two specific questions in their head:
Both of those are valid questions and both of them will have to wait for another podcast
Today I want to focus on a more recent management experience...

In my last episode, I mentioned that I recently had the privilege of Jury Duty
The case was not fun, as crime never is.
During my time on the jury I learned a lot about what human beings are capable of and at that time, I had a choice to make.
The choice to look for the good in the world, and to acknowledge it.

Welcome to the Art of Grateful Leadership Podcast
Acknowledgment can take place anywhere
Even in the Jury Room
Resulting from a trial
Let me tell you about it…

In this episode, I want to turn towards those that inspire us during hard times.
And, if you are from Detroit, you probably heard that some of us are heading into some hard times. You see, for those of us that are employed at General Motors, there have been some white-collar layoffs taking place.
And that puts each and every one of us on edge
During these times, there will always be those people that inspire others, no matter what the outcome. One of those people is my co-worker, Bonnie.

In this episode I want to turn things around a little bit...
I would imagine that most of the people listening to this podcast are the “Acknowledgers”
But I want you to think about the receiving end of Acknowledgment
I want to have you remember the last time you were the “Acknowledgee”
Why?
Because it’s time to remember the why.
