In the AFC East you'll find the Super Bowl betting-line favorites in the Bills, a wildly intriguing Miami Dolphins team, Bill Belichick leading a Patriots team that is almost guaranteed to be better than the sum of its parts (as nearly all Belichick teams are), and also the Jets. But hey, even the Jets have some reason for optimism this season. Robert Mays welcomes Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders to preview the AFC East on this episode of The Athletic Football Show.

Three NFC West teams made the playoffs last year, and all three underwent significant change this offseason. Oh, and that doesn't include the Seahawks, who dealt away their franchise quarterback. Diante Lee joins Robert Mays on this episode of The Athletic Football Show to break down the NFC West, a division that might not be as straightforward as it seems.

The AFC North features the reigning conference champions with an ascendant offense...and they aren't even the betting-line favorites to win the division. So will it be the Bengals? Or will it be the Ravens? Or will things go off-script in this division. ESPN's Mina Kimes joins Robert Mays on this episode of The Athletic Football Show to preview the AFC North.

It may have been a strange training camp for the Buccaneers, but they still head into the season as the overwhelming favorites to win the NFC South. It's a bit of an odd year for the division, though, with major questions about the Saints and Panthers, and the Falcons likely to be among the worst teams in the league. Robert Mays and Mike Sando break down the division in our NFC South preview on this episode of The Athletic Football Show.
