Auburn Basketball added a TON of new pieces this offseason, but that doesn’t mean the Tigers have to suffer through a long learning curve. This roster has the talent, experience, and pieces to come together IMMEDIATELY and be really good from the jump.
Jacob Hillman breaks down why this new-look Auburn team has a chance to click early, how all the new pieces fit together, and why Tiger fans may not have to wait long to see just how good this group can be.

It's Friday, so we're planting some flags before Auburn takes on Southern Miss.
Auburn is 1-0 under Alex Golesh, but after an ugly offensive performance against Baylor, I'm ready to see the Tigers make a STATEMENT in Week 2.
And the Auburn Daily crew has some bold predictions.
Could Xavier Atkins take an interception to the house?
Could Auburn rush for 300 yards?
Is Jeremiah Koger about to explode for 100+ yards and two touchdowns?
Could Keshaun Singleton have an even bigger performance after stepping up against Baylor?
I'm also predicting Byrum Brown stays on the field into the second half as Alex Golesh tries to get this offense completely right before SEC play begins.
And my real bold prediction?
Give me Cody Sigler creating absolute chaos in the Southern Miss backfield — multiple sacks or tackles for loss AND a forced turnover.
Plus, we've even got a punt-return touchdown prediction.
Drop YOUR bold Auburn vs. Southern Miss prediction in the comments.
And make sure you join us Saturday for Auburn Daily's LIVE coverage throughout the entire game.
Auburn has a chance to move to 2-0.
I'm ready for a statement.

Auburn survived Baylor, but that game does NOT have to become the story of this football team. Saturday against Southern Miss is Auburn’s opportunity to show that the mistakes, struggles and close call from Week 1 were exactly that — one game.
On today’s show, Kyle Rush breaks down 5 things Auburn MUST show on offense and 5 things Auburn MUST show on defense against Southern Miss. What needs to look different? Which weaknesses have to get cleaned up? And what would make us leave Jordan-Hare believing Auburn took a legitimate step forward?
Because this isn’t just about beating Southern Miss. Auburn needs to start building momentum, establishing what this team actually is and putting the Baylor performance firmly in the rearview mirror.
And the timing matters. Florida is waiting next week. Auburn has one more opportunity to clean things up, build confidence and show that this team is ready for what’s coming when SEC play arrives.

Alex Golesh is challenging several Auburn players to STEP UP as the Tigers turn their attention to Southern Miss. After Auburn's dramatic win over Baylor, Golesh revealed that a handful of players received a “wake-up call” after either not playing as much or not performing as well as expected. Now, all eyes are on which players respond and whether we see changes in Auburn's rotations on Saturday night.
Golesh also knows Baylor put some of Auburn's weaknesses on film, and he fully expects Southern Miss to test those same areas. We'll break down the position groups we're watching closely, including the interior offensive line, slot receivers, edge rushers and interior defensive line. As Golesh put it, when you show a weakness on film, it becomes a trend—and Auburn needs to put the ANSWER on film against Southern Miss.
Plus, Golesh says Jeremiah Cobb “needs more carries” after praising the Auburn running back for playing high-level football. Could Cobb be starting to separate himself in Auburn's running back rotation? We break down all of it as Auburn prepares for its home opener against Southern Miss at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn beat Baylor.
But I don't think Alex Golesh was remotely satisfied with what he saw from the Tigers' offense.
And that could make Saturday's game against Southern Miss more important than people realize.
Normally, this feels like a game where Auburn gets a comfortable lead, Byrum Brown comes out early and Tristan Ti'a gets significant playing time.
I'm not convinced that's happening.
In fact, I'm predicting Brown plays into the third quarter.
Auburn has one more opportunity to get this offense right before SEC play begins against Florida.
The interior offensive line needs answers. The wide receivers need to become more consistent. Auburn needs to establish its running game, continue figuring out the tight end usage and make sure the entire starting offense is operating the way Golesh expects.
This isn't about panicking after Baylor.
It's about the process Golesh has talked about since arriving at Auburn.
The Tigers got the best possible outcome in Week 1: they saw their flaws without those flaws costing them a football game.
Now they have to fix them.
My prediction?
Auburn wins 45-7.
But don't be surprised if Byrum Brown and several Auburn starters are still playing football in the third quarter.
Because after Southern Miss, SEC play begins.
And Auburn needs to be ready.
