Toward the end of the episode, they discuss the SEC’s weird start to the season — from the underwhelming performances from projected contenders to the lack of strong quarterback play across the league.

Justin, Dan and an invisible Painter get you ready for Auburn football’s homecoming matchup against in-state FCS opponent Samford. The guys open by discussing what the Bulldogs will bring to the table, why there’s much more potential on one side of the ball and how Auburn can get a lot of things right on offense this week.

Justin, Dan and Painter recap Auburn football’s 14-10 heist of a win against Cal. The guys praise the defense for a surprising and game-winning performance before switching over to a brutal offensive showing — save for the late, go-ahead touchdown drive in the fourth quarter.
They discuss what made things look so rough for Auburn on offense and what might need to change for the Tigers to have any chance at survival in SEC play. Justin asks a pressing question about the scheme. Dan keeps finding parallels to 2017. Painter keeps the faith in one particular area of the offense.
Toward the end of the episode, Dan gives his report from Texas’ win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The guys then look at a rough weekend of SEC football, from Texas A&M’s high-scoring loss at Miami to some near-disasters in paycheck games.

Justin, Painter and Dan preview Auburn football’s Week 2 trip to Cal. They discuss how Cal’s offense looked much better than expected in Week 1, where the Bears might want to attack and why the Tigers need to improve in one big way on the defensive side of the ball.

Justin, Painter and Dan break down what they saw from Auburn’s 59-14 season-opening win over UMass.
The guys talk about how impressive it was for Auburn to cover the spread on a day when plenty of first-year coaches — and other clear-cut favorites — struggled. They look at Robby Ashford and Payton Thorne playing off of each other in their first game together, how effective the Tigers were at rotating pretty much everybody on both sides of the ball and the areas of concern that still very much remain.
They also pick their winners for the 5-star review contest on Apple Podcast, take a quick run through the rest of the first big Saturday in college football and play “Free Bird.”

Justin, Dan and Painter celebrate the start of the Observer’s fourth football season. Painter wonders if he’s seen an excitement level to a season opener quite like this one, which prompt Justin and Dan to dig into the history books.
The guys spend the majority of the episode looking at what UMass will want to do to make this a frustratingly close(r) gam…
The most frequent non-sports question we get at The Auburn Observer goes something like this: “I’m coming to Auburn for the first time in a while. Where should I eat?”
Justin and Dan are here to answer that question with their official recommendations that span a dozen categories:
* Auburn Classics
* Lunch Spots
* Chicken/Wings
* BBQ
* Italian
* Pizza
* Korean
* Chinese
* Sports B…
Justin, Dan and Painter discuss the newly released Week 1 depth chart for Auburn football — and Hugh Freeze’s comments about the value of said depth chart. Justin tries to give proper context to what the two-deep represents. Dan makes a point about why Freeze said what he said.
The guys then run through each position group on the depth chart and look at the final questions for the units ahead of the opener against UMass. Which spots stand out the most? And what about the rise of Griffin Speaks?
The episode ends with a look at some very honest Freeze comments about the Tigers’ 2023 team and what that means for win-loss expectations. Also, for some reason, Dan wants to discuss 1999 in film.
