Amber is a nine-year Marine Veteran, with a heart that drives her to pursue change. As an activist within the community of Lima, Ohio. She is driven by women’s rights, minority injustices, and advocating for children. Amber Basares, the author of Dear Rowland and Gavin-Keith, uses her experience with divorce and fighting for parental rights to drive her activism for women’s rights. After losing custody of Rowland and Gavin-Keith in March of 2015, Amber vowed to be a better person for her kids. Amber refused to allow a temporary situation to define who she is or the direction in which her life will go. Although she no longer has primary custody of Rowland and Gavin Keith, Amber uses her relationship with her children as the fuel to her fire.
