The Avid Indoorsmen

We got some of our favorite people on the planet back on the pod: Luke Pierce, Abe Sword, Tim Foust and Jenika Marion!!!! All of these people are so much fun and we just had a fantastic time playing games and hanging out for an hour and a half.

The title of this Movie Game Night is a joke within the episode so you’ll have to listen to understand what that’s all about.

Enjoy!

While we get ready for barbecues and fireworks for the 4th of July weekend, we should also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the epic alien disaster film, Independence Day! The film where we got to see Will Smith punch out an alien and Bill Pullman inspire us with a presidential speech, turns 25 on July 3rd.

We asked Neil Ghosh, a great buddy of ours and recurring guest, to come on back and give his thoughts on this blockbuster movie. He always has a great take and we had a blast talking about Independence Day with him.

This episode ends with a Starting 5 game and our Patrons can hear us draft our Top 5 Movie Motivational Speeches.

Enjoy!

The candy-coated classic, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary! 50 years of Everlasting Gobstoppers, Golden Tickets and Oompa Loompas.

We knew that Broadway Actress and previous guest, Stephanie Torns, loves this film so we got her to come back on the show and bring along her man/one of our besties, Benny Elledge. These two are a riot and we had a very silly time breaking down this film.

We end this episode with a Starting 5 game and our Patrons can listen to us draft our Top 5 Favorite Movies Adapted From Children's Books.

It’s been 15 years since Meryl Streep played the cutthroat fashion empress, Miranda Priestly, and it remains an iconic cinematic character.

The Devil Wears Prada is a favorite of ours and we knew that Sami Matarante also enjoyed it so we were able to get her to come back onto the podcast to talk about it! She has some great takes on this one that should not be missed.

We ended with a brand new game Buegs came up with called The Trifecta and our Patrons can listen to a very appropriate draft, our Top 5 Worst Movie Bosses.

25 years ago there was a hostage takeover during a tour of Alcatraz and the only people who could help were Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery. It’s a perfect scenario for a super entertaining film and we were so excited to do an episode on The Rock.

Our good buddy Benny Elledge came back on the pod fresh after his leading role feature film debut in Kringle Time, which can be seen at www.brooklynfilmfestival.org. He brought along a friend of his, who is now a friend of ours, Adam “Renegade” Wilson. We had such a good time talking to these two about this memorable action flick.

We end this episode with an Imitation Game and our Patrons can hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Hostage Films.

Enjoy The Rock!

Baz Luhrmann’s film that taught us “the greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return” has just turned 20 years old. That’s right, Moulin Rouge is celebrating it’s 20th Anniversary!

This was a big film for us and to talk about this wildly original musical, we got a wildly original musical guy in Austin Brown to come back to the pod. He had some fun takes on this that we think you’re going to enjoy.

We end this episode with a fun Starting 5 game and our Patrons get to hear us battle it out during our Top 5 Films Where A Character Puts On A Stage Production Draft!

We are back with another Movie Game Night and this time we decided to bring our old roommates on the show! Back in 2008 we all lived in a house in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis and it was a very fun time in our lives. Many nights were spent across the street at the Green Mill as we procrastinated on figuring out what life path each of us should take. This was a great excuse to all hang out and play some games.

We hope you enjoy this Movie Game Night: Roomies Edition.

Every year we take the Academy Award’s Best Picture Winner and devote an episode to it. This last year’s winner was the Frances McDormand-led road trip romp, Nomadland. This film won Best Picture, Best Director & Best Lead Actress, which gave us a lot to talk about. We had a fun time breaking this down with just the two of us.

We end the episode with a Last Man Stanton that was chosen by an Indoorsy, and our Patrons can hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Best Actress Oscar Winning Performances.

If you’re a regular listener to our show, you know that Buegs is a big fan of the comedy led by Kristen Wiig, Bridesmaids. We saw that Bridesmaids was reaching it’s 10 year mark and knew we had to devote some time to talk about it.

Some of our favorite people in the world feel the same way as Buegs, so we got Adam Chance and Sami Matarante (Chami) to come back on the show! It’s always a blast having Chami on the pod and they had some great takes on this hilarious film.
