Hola Big Interview listeners!
The World Cup is over ... but I don't want to move on quite yet.
Instead I asked our Socios send me their questions about this remarkable tournament. Here is the second part of that Q&A special.
I discuss the use of VAR in Russia and the difficulties faced by Messi's Argentina, while I also give my views on where I think this tournament ranks compared to past World Cups.
Enjoy!

Hola Big Interview listeners!
The World Cup is over, France have conquered the globe once again ... but I don't want to move on quite yet.
Instead I asked our fantastic Socios to send me over your questions about this remarkable tournament. There were so many questions that I have chosen to split this special Q&A finale episode into two parts.
In part one, I discuss the unsung heroes in Russia, the team which surprised me most and the moments which moved me.
There is so much to talk about so let's get right to it.
Enjoy!

Hola Big Interview listeners ... or should that be bonjour?
France are the new world champions after winning 4-2 against Croatia in Moscow. Do Didier Deschamps' side deserve that title? I certainly think so, and I explain why in this special review of the World Cup final.
I tackle the VAR controversy, explain where Croatia fell short and focus on the performances of the key players for France: Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann.
What a final. What a World Cup.
Enjoy!

Hola Big Interview listeners!
This is it! The final of the 2018 World Cup is finally upon us. I have seen some wonderful football played by both France and Croatia at this tournament and it is going to be a thrill to see them compete for the trophy.
In this special preview episode I explain why midfield will be a key battleground in Moscow and give my views on Mario Mandzukic, Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante and, of course, Kylian Mbappe.
I'll also tell you what I learned when I interviewed France manager Didier Deschamps and give my big match prediction.
Enjoy!

Hola Big Interview listeners!
The World Cup final is almost upon us and to get the juices flowing I have put together a special episode focusing on Croatia. You will hear from Slaven Bilic, who I spoke to in a wonderful Big Interview one year ago and who played at France 98 when Croatia finished third.
Slaven told me about some of the matches he played in at that tournament - including a semi-final against tomorrow's opponents France - but this show is not about past glories. You will also learn about the tremendous team spirit in this generation of Croatia players as well as the circumstances which have enabled them to flourish.
If you've enjoyed Slaven's punditry in Russia this summer then you will know why he is a man well worth listening to.
Enjoy!

Hola Big Interview listeners!
As we prepare for the World Cup final between France and Croatia, I take you back to two previous occasions when Les Bleus competed in the final of the tournament: as hosts in 1998 and in Germany eight years later.
Both finals were cloaked in controversy - from the absence of Ronaldo on the official team sheet in Paris to Zidane's infamous "header" on Materazzi in Berlin - and I talk about it all here.
Enjoy!

Hola Big Interview listeners!
It is Croatia who have joined France in the World Cup final, beating England last night. It was a compelling match and one which gave me plenty to talk about when I recorded this match review only moments after the end of extra time.
England came a long way in Russia but, ultimately, they made some major errors last night which I think cost them a place in Sunday's final.
This is my take on what happened in Moscow.
Enjoy!

Hola Big Interview listeners!
So England are only one game from the final: is it coming home? Or are England getting sent home by Croatia?
This semi-final is going to be captivating and in this special preview episode, which I recorded yesterday, I look at the key talking points. I talk about Harry Kane, Dele Alli and the controversial Croat Domagoj Vida.
There is a lot to cover before kick off so let's get started.
Enjoy!

Hola Big Interview listeners!
So now we know that France are going to the World Cup final. I really enjoyed their semi-final with Belgium, decided by a set piece and a goal from FC Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti.
This is my take on what happened in St Petersburg.
Enjoy!

Hugh MacDonald has been a journalist for 47 years but the most fulfilling day of his professional life came in the summer of 2013 when he watched Andy Murray win Wimbledon for the first time. Hugh had followed the Murray story for years, got to know the family and became the go-to Andy Murray reporter for media around the world. Around 6pm on July 7, he faced the task of distilling Murray’s achievement into a 1200 word news story for the front page of The Herald newspaper in Scotland. Hugh rose to the occasion and wrote a lucid, powerful and at times deeply emotional piece about the biggest moment in the history of Scottish sport. This is the story behind that article. Enjoy.
