The overwhelming defeat of a Roman punitive force ignited a wildfire of belief among the Jewish populace. What had been skepticism turned into unshakable conviction: compromise was a betrayal, and God Himself had ordained their victory. Jewish Forces: roughly 14,000 light infantry, very few cavalry.
