Dr. David Powlison died on June 7, 2019 at the age of 69. He was a founding member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition. Today’s 15:14 is a repost of Curtis interviewing Dr. Powlison in 2016. David will be greatly missed by our ministry and many others whose lives have been influenced by our dear brother.
Barbara Juliani, Editorial Director at New Growth Press, is our guest on today's episode of 15:14. Listen in as Barbara and Curtis discuss a new series of children's books that apply biblical counseling principles to particular struggles in a way that is accessible and understandable to young children. These beautifully illustrated books can help parents, grandparents, and children's ministry workers address issues like anger, anxiety, and pride in the hearts of the children in their lives.
This week Curtis is joined by Dr. Rob Plummer, Professor of New Testament Interpretation at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Plummer discusses the importance of studying the Bible in its original languages and shares some of the resources he has created so that anyone can learn and maintain their knowledge of Greek from anywhere in the world. Be sure to check out these free resources at the Daily Dose of Greek website.
Join us for the 100th episode of 15:14 as we explore the world of biblical counseling in Ecuador! Pastor and biblical counselor Juan Moncayo shares how God has established a strong and rapidly growing biblical counseling presence in Ecuador in the past few years.
Ed Welch (Ph.D.) joins Curtis to discuss his newest book, A Small Book about a Big Problem. Dr. Welch brings years of wisdom gleaned from counseling many who struggle with sinful anger to this very accessible book. It is written for all people, whether they think they have a problem with anger or not, and it is written in short bites intended to be chewed on throughout the day for 50 days.
BCC Council Board Member and pastor, Dwayne Bond, joins Curtis for a discussion about developing multiethnic church communities and the role biblical counseling plays in that endeavor.
This week’s episode of 15:14 is the third and final in our series of interview questions from the Biblical Counseling Coalition’s first Global Summit. Our guests were asked a series of questions and in this episode they respond to the question, “What does the Bible have to say to people who struggle with serious issues of mental illness?”
On this episode of 15:14 Curtis interviews John Henderson at the Association of Biblical Counselors National Conference. They discuss the content of John's messages at the ABC Conference as well as the ability for some licensed counselors to still practice biblical counseling.
Dr. Steve Viars, Pastor at Faith Ministries in Lafayette, Indiana, joins Curtis to discuss the importance and value of reaching out to our neighbors with the love of Christ ministering to them both body and soul. Dr. Viars shares how biblical counseling is an effective outreach that opened doors to other avenues of outreach through community service.
In this episode of 15:14, Curtis interviews Joel and Rachel Golden. The Goldens adopted two boys who both have Down Syndrome. The interview takes place in their home and provides a small window into the struggles and blessings that come with being a family with special needs.

Welcome to The BCC Podcast, the official podcast of the Biblical Counseling Coalition (BCC). Previously called 15:14, this podcast is based on Romans 15:14 — reminding us that, as believers, we are "full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able to instruct one another" — this show is dedicated to multiplying relationships and robust resources within the biblical counseling movement.
Join host Kevin Carson (Executive Director of the BCC) along with BCC staff and leading voices from across the global network as we explore the sufficiency and necessity of Scripture for the personal ministry of the Word. We tackle the real, messy realities of human relationships and soul care — including depression, anxiety, grief, and conflict resolution — through insightful interviews and theological discussions.
Whether you are a pastor, certified biblical counselor, lay leader, or believer seeking to speak God's truth in love, The BCC Podcast equips the local church for compassionate outreach, progressive sanctification, and Christ-centered discipleship.
