The Beat Generation

This week we take a look at one of the most iconic and influential albums in Motown's history - Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On?"

What's Going On has been proclaimed as the album which changed black music forever and it is one of the greatest socially conscious music albums of all time. If the Beat Generation had of started in the 70’s instead of the 60’s then Gaye’s portrait of life would have been their setting.

Songs from Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On?" in today's show include:

What's Going On?

What's Happening Brother?

Save the Children

Mercy Mercy Me

Flyin' High (In the Friendly Sky)

God is Love (Single Version)

He tells it like it is and will leave you wanting to know more about the guy they call Nollsie.
