  • Episode 668: A Reflection on the Honeymoon Phase
Today’s podcast is inspired by a text I received from a friend this week about my relationship, along with an experience I had today with my wife. It’s so fascinating to me how many of us easily limit ourselves to having mediocre relationships when we are the only things standing in the way of having a good one. I hope you find it to be a valuable reflection that is useful to you. Thanks for listening. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 667: A Model for a Great Life
Thanks to a fantastic conversation with a good friend of mine from Mexico, I present to you a model for a great life. It’s simple, yet challenging. It’s not full of pleasure and amazement, but it is full of meaning, engagement, self-examination, and growth, which are all associated with deeper senses of well-being. I hope you find it to be useful. As always, thanks for listening. Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 666: Seeking Attention
Today has brought a really important moment of awareness for me. My mom is was an amazing person to me, and with being so amazing came rewarding my need for attention and care whenever I was down or in pain. I’ve noticed that I’ve substituted this desire for attention from my mom in those moments to now putting it on Gabi, despite having plenty of experience dealing with pain and challenges by myself over these past 8 years or so. It was a really important pattern to recognize, so I wanted to share it here with you. Thanks for listening. I hope you find it to be valuable to reflect on your own life. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 665: They Don’t Love It
Jack Harlow’s new album “Jackman.” has a song on it that speaks to a really cool theme in the field of motivation. It’s something I’ve spoken about on the podcast before: the value of intrinsic motivation. The way he puts it in the song is really cool and relatable, so I wanted to share a bit about it here with you. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for listening. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 664: Rewarding is Harder than Punishing
I’ve noticed how much easier it is to instinctively react to something with criticism in comparison to instinctively giving positive reinforcement for behaviors in others. This especially applies to people with whom we have more rocky and challenging relationships, along with people with whom we share a lot of intimacy (but less so in that case, in my experience). I share more about this reflection here, which I hope you find to be useful. As always, thanks for listening. Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 663: You Don’t Pick Your Thoughts
Today’s podcast is a bit of a tour of the mind. We start with how we don’t choose our thoughts, then get into how we can start to choose what goes into our minds to form our thoughts, and then finish with whether we’re even making those choices in the first place when we do. It’s a fun journey that I hope you enjoy taking with me. Thanks for listening. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 662: Navigating Bureaucracy with Gabi
Gabi returns to discuss all the things we’re currently working through together. We talk about the residency process in Brazil, the many twists and turns involved in buying and/or renting, and much more. It hasn’t been easy, but we’re working together and we’re making progress. I hope you enjoy this look into some of the details we’re managing. Thanks for listening. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 661: Vulnerably Sharing My Weaknesses
This is one of the realest podcasts I’ve recorded in a while… perhaps ever. This evening wasn’t the best, and it led me to a lot of meaningfully reflections about myself. Who I am, how I show up, how I am influenced by my social environment, how I struggle to transcend, how easily I am irritated and thrown off by some things… it’s a lot to cover, but I do my best to share it all and make sense of it in real time. I hope you enjoy listening and find value in what I share. Thank you for tuning in. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 660: Aunt Niza
This weekend, I spent Mother’s Day here in Brazil with some of Gabi’s mom’s family. One of those people was her aunt Niza, who is a tremendously special person. I really appreciate the way she shows up in the world and who she is, so I wanted to make some space to talk about her here on the podcast. Despite my coughing, I hope you enjoy this one and resonate with the message. Thanks for listening. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.

  • Episode 659: Running with a Stranger
Last Monday, I was out for a run and ended up crossing paths with another runner who was going in the same direction I was at around the same pace. As I passed, I congratulated him on his good pace. He thanked me and we kept going. As we continued at around the same speed, I turned to him and started making conversation about running. We ended up running together for about an hour, sharing conversations about running and our personal lives. It was a really cool experience and yet another reminder of the value of connecting with people spontaneously and how the great majority of people are well intentioned and have love in their hearts. I hope you enjoy listening to this. As always, Much Love ❤️ and please take care.
