This weekend, I spent Mother’s Day here in Brazil with some of Gabi’s mom’s family. One of those people was her aunt Niza, who is a tremendously special person. Last Monday, I was out for a run and ended up crossing paths with another runner who was going in the same direction I was at around the same pace. As I passed, I congratulated him on his good pace. He thanked me and we kept going. As we continued at around the same speed, I turned to him and started making conversation about running. We ended up running together for about an hour, sharing conversations about running and our personal lives. It was a really cool experience and yet another reminder of the value of connecting with people spontaneously and how the great majority of people are well intentioned and have love in their hearts.
