  • Episode 220: The Value of Collaboration
This episode focused on two key topics. The first, which is a prerequisite to the second, addressed the inherent fears that we often have about losing credit for our ideas and having others steal our ideas. This is a fear that I used to have, and I break down why it’s disadvantageous to think in this way in the first part of this episode. Second, I discussed the importance and value of collaboration, and why we should openly share our ideas with others. I hope you take some valuable lessons from this. It was a really meaningful episode for me. As always, Much Love! ❤️

  • Episode 219: My Prerequisites for Pursuing Truth
Today’s episode is a bit different. Instead of hanging out in the clouds and being abstract (which I have a tendency to do), I broke down specific rules / prerequisites which I have developed for reaching better truths. To be honest, this was a fun episode to record for me, yet it was one which I wasn’t sure about recording because of the fragility and nuanced-nature of the topic. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it! As I mention in the podcast, it’s a topic which I think is extremely important for all of us both now and in the future. Much Love ❤️. For questions and comments, email [email protected] !

  • Episode 218: Goals
How should we think about our goals? What are the best ways to set goals? These are the two principal questions I tackle in this episode, along with sprinkling in some context around how my goal setting practices have evolved over time. This was a really fun episode for me, as I think that the material here is SO practical and useful. I hope you get as much out of it as I did. And seriously, email me at [email protected] with your feedback. I want to hear from you! Much Love ❤️.

  • Episode 217: Transparency and Insecurity
Today’s podcast is a reading of an article titled “Transparency and Insecurity” on my blog - mattbest.net/theplatform. It’s a tale of younger me, who struggled so much with being open, honest, and secure if himself. Fortunately, I found a way out of those struggles, and I discuss the critical realizations that got me out in this episode. As always, thanks for all of the attention and support. Much Love ❤️.

  • Episode 216: Kindness
Letting anger out feels good in the moment. I get it. We feel like we’re releasing all of our pain and frustration when we do so, and who knows, maybe it benefits us in some way. But think about how the other person feels when this anger and frustration falls upon them. Do they like getting yelled at? Would they enjoy the intense ridicule you place on them? Is this way of communicating really the best way? In this episode, I argue for using kindness instead. It’s definitely harder to do, but the benefits are significant, both for you and for the person you’re trying to convince / help. I appreciate your attention to this episode. It’s something which we all need to be thinking about and acting on. Thank you for taking the time to tune in. It means so much to me. And as always, Much Love ❤️.

  • Episode 215: Deprivation
Falling asleep sweating and waking up sweating for 5 days because of extremely hot temperatures and humidity wasn’t exactly the most fun thing I could’ve decided to do. In the moment, it sucked. But my appreciation of the simple things and basic pleasures of life intensified. In this podcast, I explore the value of this experience, and why deprivation isn’t so bad after all. Take this one with an open mind. Much Love ❤️.

  • Episode 214: Presence
Today’s podcast is an active reflection on what I’ve gained from being off of social media over this past month. To be frank, doing this has been one of the best decisions I’ve made up to this point. The positive outcomes I’ve experienced have been resounding, and I wanted to take the time to discuss the biggest benefit I’ve seen so far: presence. I hope you enjoy this talk, and I hope that all is going well in your life. As always, Much Love ❤️.

  • Episode 213: Fear
Fear is something which every single one of us has experienced. It’s such a strong feeling and it’s quite hard to avoid it. At some point or another, it comes along in our minds and we have to deal with it. This blog post / podcast is focused on how we interpret fear, and why we aren’t confined to experiencing it in a negative way. Changing our conceptions of fear can benefit us so much, and I hope that the message in this episode articulates that for you. • Episode 212: Amor Fati
Amor Fati is a Latin phrase which means “the love of one’s own fate”. It is a curious term on the surface, especially considering the inclusion of the concept of fate in it. However, when we dive into its deeper meaning and how that deeper meaning plays out in our minds and actions, the implications are quite grand for all of us. In today’s episode, I break down this deeper meaning and the significant implications of this concept. It’s one of the most interesting and useful ways of thinking I have learned recently, so I hope you find it to be intriguing yourself. As always, Much Love ❤️.

  • Episode 211: The Faults of Moderation
When I was in Mexico, I didn’t eat any meat. Yes, I didn’t eat a nice taco al pastor. I didn’t eat a classic chicken quesadilla. I didn’t even eat a torta. As you may know, I don’t eat meat and decided to not sacrifice that while I was away. This decision was a bewilderment to my friend’s mom, and we ended up having a couple of long conversations about it revolving around moderation and our thoughts on the topic. So in today’s podcast, I talk through her argument of “poco veneno no mata”, or “a little venom doesn’t kill”, how I responded, and the reactions and realizations which came later. For anyone who likes thinking about logic and the implications of arguments, I think you’ll really like this episode. I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback! As always, Much Love ❤️.
