  • Episode 141: A Conversation with Michael Irving
Today, a really special conversation with a great friend of mine. Mike does Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has been doing it for 10 years. Today’s podcast centers on his experiences with Brazilian jiu-jitsu and then we jump into a lot of other topics having to do with health and deeper happiness. I hope you all enjoy it. It’s definitely a densely packed chat that will be informative in some way.

  • Episode 140: Hayden Needs to Plan (& Other Tangents)
Today, Hayden Smith returns to the podcast. We last talked on the podcast exactly one year ago to the day. CRAZY! We hit on a lot of important points, like improvement, planning, how much of a stud Nicole Zapparrata is, conscientiousness, the internet, criticism, influence, and how being a good human being is always the right thing to do. ALSO, we make a MASSIVE bet for the long-term future with extremely high stakes that you simply cannot miss. Hayden is a great guy who so many people can relate to, so I hope that you all enjoy it. Much love! ❤️

  • Episode 139: Be a Curious Kid
Today, the theme is short and sweet with some elaboration. Be curious! Ask questions and don’t be afraid to wonder and ponder. Be like a kid and don’t restrict yourself from the wondrous bounds of discovery. Reflect on the questions that are naturally coming to you, learn about them, and seek out knowledge. Don’t do it for an extrinsic reason. Do it for you! Do it to discover and feed the curious kid that we all have inside of us. Much love ❤️

  • Episode 138: Smell the Roses
Two days ago, the owner of Leicester City Football Club died in a helicopter crash after their match against West Ham United. After winning the Premier League title at 5000-1 odds three years ago, the fairytale ended with the blink of an eye. // This life can end at any moment. However, this should not make us live in fear. This should make us embrace life and live it to the greatest extent possible. Do things with purpose. Take a risk. Seize each day as if it were your last. Although it is much more likely that each of our deaths is not impending in the immediate future, it is not certain. // Stop and smell the roses. You never know when it’s going to be your last time. Thanks so much for tuning in. I sincerely hope that this message resonated with you. Much love. ❤️

  • Episode 137: How to Develop Positive Self Talk
Today, I take a new approach to this podcast discussion. Instead of a more conceptual conversation, I discuss THREE concrete strategies that we can use to develop positive self talk. First, writing notes on your phone or in a notebook to reflect on your experiences and to write your thoughts. Second, setting reminders every 1/2/4 hours with positive messages to bring you up. Third, reflecting at the end of each day for 15 minutes by answering these three questions: What are three things I am grateful for? What are three great things I did today? And what are three positive things that I love about myself? Also, there are deeper explanations in the podcast to add more depth to each. I’d love to hear your feedback on these strategies. I liked this new approach and I plan on doing more episodes like this in the future. Thanks so much again for your attention. I appreciate it immensely. Much love ❤️.
