February 19, 2021 Does it Make Sense to Believe in a Creator or Nah?
Ok - big bang theory, aliens, computer simulation...Creator? How did it all start? Since our complex universe is one that could only exist with extremely specific settings and elements, does it make sense to believe that life was designed over believing it happened by accident?

We think so. Plus, the idea that you're just an accident and your ideas of meaning are simply evolutionary constructs put in place to help you survive is kind of a downer, no?

Here's a question for you to consider - an especially poignant question for our day and age: with all of our cultural discussions on justice and equality, can science itself provide us with the perspective and worldview we need to move forward towards human flourishing? We don't think so. The Bible has an interesting angle on this question, though. The Bible says humans are made in the image of God - giving us inherent dignity, purpose and value. What if believing that we were all intentionally created instead of believing that we're all the product of chance is the key to human flourishing an equality?

Big questions, and we think the Bible's answers for these questions are worth your time.

February 12, 2021 What Does the Bible Say About How Life Began?
A lot of people write off the Bible because they think it conflicts with science, therefore making it an inaccurate and untrustworthy book. But, what if science and faith aren't enemies, just different discussions? I know, I know, the religion and science fight is a fun war to start - but what if it's unnecessary?

The reality is that the Bible's take on the origin of life is nuanced, wide and complex. It paints an incredibly unique picture of a Creator who creates the universe out of nothing - but it doesn't really talk about how the Creator did it. In fact, how the Creator made the universe isn't even the point the Biblical authors are trying to make. The point of the Bible's explanation for the origin of life is that it started with a Creator. The Bible's take is that humans and the universe were made intentionally - not by chance.

The method, the recipe, the approach? There's room for discussion and speculation. Genesis 1-2 don't have to be enemies of science. Science tells us a lot about life - but it can't tell us the meaning of life. The Bible has some hot takes on that, though.

Does evolutionary theory disprove Christianity?

Nah, bruh. Not even close. But for many, the questions and issues surrounding understanding the origins of life stop them from engaging with the Bible. They see Genesis 1 and think that a 7 day view of creation is completely incompatible with scientific conclusions - that the earth is billions of years old, for example.

But what if faith and science weren't enemies? Some say they are, but what if they are actually two different spaces that work together? There's actually quite a bit of diverse opinions and thoughts on the nature of the Bible's take on the origins of life from Christians that might surprise you. Our goal is to show you that science doesn't rule out faith and therefore the Bible's take on the origins of life is actually an interesting perspective for our modern world.

One of the biggest charges levied against Christianity is the hypocrisy of many of its followers. There’s a laundry list of bad names and bad history associated with Christianity - people who have taken advantage of others and used religion to do so.

So what does Jesus have to say about all this? You might be surprised to find that Jesus called out hypocrites and self-righteous people A LOT. So, if you’ve ever taken issue with Christianity because of hypocrisy that you’ve seen, just know Jesus feels you on that. He took major issue with hypocritical religious leaders of his day. His critique of hypocrites posing as religious leaders is more like a diss track than it is a Sunday School Class.
