Paige, Beaufort, SC -  Hi Pastor, I'm nearly done reading, "The word of God in English: criteria for excellence in Bible translation." I appreciate the read to learn why literal translations are the best and why we use the NASB here. Growing up I went to schools that used KJV, then NKJV, and then in college mostly NIV with Athletes in Action/FCA/Campus Crusade but never really studied why. I've been reading through each child's NIV translation (so we have 3 of them!) that we bought for each of our children. Having finished with our oldest, all of our children now hear the reading with the middle and youngest child. However, I've been convicted that this translation is just not as good. What would you do? I am using an NASB for my personal studies so that the depth of the content is not biased by commentary that has infiltrated other translations, like the NIV. Thank you for your time.

Jason, TX (Live Caller) - I have a question about Voddie Baucham and John MacArthur?

Ofelia, Savannah, GA (Live Dictation) - If someone is a believer and has been baptized but they lie continuously, if they die without confessing, will they still be going to heaven?

Linda, Beaufort, SC (Live Dictation) - Are there any examples of people possessed by demons in the Old Testament?

Bill C., Milledgeville, GA - My question is concerning the history of our English Bible. One thing I observed was that there were apparently two avenues for the Bible. One came from Antioch while the other came from Alexandria, Egypt. Origen, who denied salvation by grace, is said to have rewritten much of the text. Later, others of the same mind did likewise. Jerome even appeared to follow Origen, when he wrote the Latin Vulgate for Rome.  Fast forward to the RSV and I’ve read that Wescott and Hort got caught up in the liberal teaching of that time, questioning the inspiration of the Bible. It appears as if every major work done since the RSV rely on the questionable texts they used. My question is: is this an accurate understanding or is it just used to support the KJV only view Thank you for the clarification.

Kellee Price, Ocala, FL -  I would be interested in receiving detailed information regarding the Institute of Biblical Studies, can you point in the the right direction? Thank you. Kellee
