NPP on Saturday went to the polls to elect Parliamentary candidates for 2024 elections. Some constituencies recorded misunderstanding between aspirants and constituency executives. In Yendi, the election was characterized by chaos and the EC was not unable to declare a winner. The contest was between, Farouk Aliu Mahama and Hajia Abibata Mahama. Party executives declared Farouk Aliu Mahama as winner but his contender, Hajia Abibata Mahama in statement urged her supporters to disregard the declaration as the party works to find amicable solution to issues. At Asante Akyem South, constituency Youth Organizer attacked chairman during a church service for not supporting the winning candidate because he has no right to be part of the thanksgiving service. We will be speaking with the party for their general assessment of the election and how they will reconcile both defeated and winning candidates to have a unite front for the 2024 elections.

As the party prepares to elect parliamentary candidates for 137 constituencies for the 2024 general elections, we will be going to some of the hot constituencies to speak with our reporters to find out how candidates and delegates are rapping up campaigns ahead of Saturday.

New Patriotic Party is gearing up to elect parliamentary candidates for 137 constituencies for the 2024 general elections. These are constituencies with sitting MPs. Some of the constituencies with sitting MP’s have also seen other government appointees contesting them making the primaries very keen.

In view of these, Big Agednda will be going to some selected constituencies such as Awutu Senya East, Hemang Lower Denkyira, Sehwi Bekwai/ Wiawso, Asante Akyem Central/North, Tano North to look at how candidates and delegate are gearing up for the elections on Saturday.

Chief of Army Staff, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah has refuted rumours claiming that he has declined an appointment as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). According to the highly-ranked army officer, although the rumours were untrue, they had exposed him to unnecessary attacks. Mr. Peprah adds that, he has videos and pictures where people have taken him to juju for not accepting the promotion. Former President and 2024 NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama is urging Ghanaians, particularly trade and labor groups, to grant him a grace period if he successfully regains power. This request comes in response to the increased demand for improved conditions of service from these groups. Addressing attendees at a 'Campus Connect' event in Hohoe, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer stressed the importance of allowing time to revive the economy before tackling specific demands. His comment has generated controversies among the public.
