October 13, 2022Circling the Wagons with Jeff BellIn this episode, Jeff Bell and I talk Buffalo Bills before Sunday's Week 6 meeting against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. First, we look back at last year's incredible playoff dual between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. In that game, both passers combined for 707 passing yards and seven touchdowns as the Chiefs beat the Bills 42-36 in an instant classic. Thru five games, the Bills are 4-1 with wins over the Rams, Titans, Ravens, and Steelers. Buffalo's only loss came in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. In those five games, Allen leads the NFL with 1,651 passing touchdowns while also leading the Bills in rushing. Does this mean Buffalo is too reliant on his franchise quarterback? What are the keys for the Bills to attack KC's defense while containing Mahomes and Travis Kelce on Sunday? Despite back-to-back AFC East titles, is Sean McDermott the right coach for Josh Allen to contend for Super Bowls? With the Carolina Panthers firing Matt Rhule this week, rumors started of the Bills perhaps being interested in Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey. Jeff answers whether the Bills would be a good landing spot for CMC. With Buffalo a favorite, Sunday's game could be the first time Mahomes is a home underdog in his entire NFL career. ...more26minPlay

October 03, 2022Week 4 Recap with Alex BleuelIn this episode, Alex Bleuel and I debate Sunday Night's 72-point shootout between Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady, an overtime thriller between the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers, our biggest surprises and disappointments, and a Tua rant. First, we talk Chiefs-Bucs. Mahomes threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Travis Kelce caught nine passes for 92 yards and a touchdown. TB12 threw 52 times for 385 yards and three touchdowns. We debate Patrick Mahomes' incredible skills, his incredible touchdown to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and how he has played without Tyreek Hill. Then, we look at whether Tom Brady and the Bucs remain contenders in the NFC. While Alex is not as high, I still believe in TB12, but the Bucs offensive line needs help. We then turn to Lambeau Field, where the Packers beat the Patriots 23-20 in overtime. We also recap our bet that we mad eon this game. Alex took GB to cover the nearly 10-point spread. I took NE and the points. Bailey Zappe, who replaced Brian Hoyer, completed 10 of his 15 passes and one touchdown. Alex was impressed with the former Western Kentucky passer. Aaron Rodgers completed just 60 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and a bad Pick Six. Despite the win, we are both concerned with GB's lack of big plays and whether the Packers remain a top contender in the NFC. We then look at our biggest surprises and disappointments. Alex is surprised with the Philadelphia Eagles. I an surprised by Saquon Barkley and the NY Giants strong start. For our most disappointing team, I pick the 1-2-1 Colts, and Alex is surpsied by the whole AFC West outside of the Chiefs. Alex ends this episode with a memorable rant after a controversial week surrounding Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa injuries....more35minPlay
September 26, 2022Week 3 Recap with Alex BleuelIn this episode, Alex Bleuel and I recap Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season, which saw the Miami Dolphins beat the Buffalo Bills and Russell Wilson Wilson leading the Broncos to a win over the San Francisco 49ers. First, we look at how the Fins beat the Bills. We look at how Miami limited Allen and the Bills despite Buffalo running 90 plays on offense. We also look at Miami's famous butt punt from yesterday's game. I also explain why the Bills cannot win close games and are too dependent on Allen's passing and rushing in big games. Then, we look at how Russ Wilson and the Broncos beat the 49ers. We look at what's wrong with Denver's offense. We also look at 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's pulling a Dan Orlovsky for a safety in the game. We then talk about our favorite bad-weather games before I end this episode by ranting why the LA Chargers played Justin Herbert in a 38-10 loss to Big D's Jaguars with his rib injury....more30minPlay
September 19, 2022Tua's six-touchdown game and Jags' shutout over Colts with Alex BleuelIn this episode, Alex Bleuel and I recap Tua Tagovailoa six-touchdown win over Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, Dylan's Jacksonville Jaguars blanking the Colts. First, we talk Tua and the Fins beating the Ravens 42-38 in Week 2's highest-scoring game. In this game, Tua threw five of his six TDs in a second-half performance for the ages. Four of those touchdowns went to Miami's dynamic receiver duo in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, who caught the game-winning touchdown. Hill and Waddle combined for 22 receptions, 361 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. Alex explains the emotions he felt watching his Fins win in Baltimore. Then, we talk Jags. Second-year standout Trevor Lawrence shined - completing 25 of 30 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns. With this win, the Jags have beaten the Colts in every home game the past eight years. The Colts have been shutout three times in Jacksonville since 2017. While Jacksonville's offense played its part, the Jags stuffed Indy's running game - limiting 201 rushing champ Jonathan Taylor to just 54 yards. Meanwhile, Matt Ryan was sacked five times and threw three interceptions. I explain how Matt Ryan does not possess any mobility to avoid the pass-rush. We then move onto two more games that captures our attention. Alex picks Cooper Rush and the Dallas Cowboys stunning the Cincinnati Bengals in Arlington. I pick Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals amazing comeback against the Las Vegas Raiders. Finally, The Big D's rant explaining the pathetic Atlanta Falcons plan with Kyle Pitts, who caught two passes for 19 yards in both of his 2022 games this season....more32minPlay

September 12, 2022Week 1 Recap with Alex BleuelIn this episode, Alex Bleuel and I review Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season. First, we head to Cincinnati, where the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals played another AFC North showdown. Despite Joe Burrow's five-interception game, a late touchdown to Ja'Marr Chase gave tied the game before a potential game-winning extra point attempt. Unfortunately for the Benla,s a blocked Evan McPherson extra point sent this game into overtime. After two more missed field goals, Crhis Boswell ended this game with a 53-yard field goal in overtime. Late in this game, Steelers star pass-rusher T.J. Watt tore his pec. Onto Houston, where the Colts and Texans played to a 20-20 tie. Despite Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr.'s strong afternoons, a Rodrigo Blankenship missed field goal kept Houston alive. We try and answer why the Colts cannot win a season-opener and whether Lovie smith should have been more aggressive late in overtime. We then look back at two more impressive displays. Alex was impresses with Justin Jefferson in a strong win over the Green Bay Packers. I loved the New York Giants beating the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. Patrick Mahomes showed his all-around brillance and Justin Fields handled a tough 49ers defense and Chicago's rain. We then finish this episode by talking about Alex's head-to-head DraftKings win over me this weekend by five points. Despite Alex's win, I explain how Week 1 was a very good DFS week for The Big D....more28minPlay
