First cast this morning on The Big Fish comes from Jo Starling who has just been crowned the champion angler at the Secret Women’s Business Barramundi Tournament fished on Corrobboree Billabong.

We also talk about Bass fishing on Somerset Dam where Jo is competing this weekend in the final of the Kayak Fishing tournament. The Bass are so big in this Queensland impoundment that Jo believes the winning 2 fish bag limit will probably go over 6 kilos.

We continue the focus on the hard fighting Bass with Col Treneman on the Mid North Coast. The Bass have been trapped in the lower reaches of the rivers due to the lack of rain and the catch and release fishing has been spectacular. The fishing with locally made soft bodied cicada fizzers at night has been very exciting with the heart stopping surface strikes shattering the still night air!
