Clean Water Wednesday today is on location near Brighton, IA at D&D Horras Farms! Dan Horras tells us about their experience with cover crops. David is also joined by Mark Bloom from Montag Manufacturing to discuss the equipment they offer for nutrient application. He also talks about their relationship with the Iowa Ag Water Alliance. Dustin Demoss with Nutrien tells us more about how ESN can be helpful alongside other clean water practices like cover crops.

Wednesday's First hour: It's a Clean Water Wednesday in Southeast Iowa at D&D Horras Farms near Brighton, IA. Daivd is joined by Mark Bloom from Montag Manufacturing talking about the equipment to apply nutrients in fields and Dustin Demoss with Nutrien talking about Environmentally Smart Nitrogen (ESN). Dan and Dave Horras tell us more about the practices they have in place there on the farm including ESN to prevent nitrogen loss. It's also Wyffels Wednesday and Bob caught up with Doug Pooch who tells us about the speedy drying of crops in the field this season and what he's telling customers about scheduling harvest.

Tuesday's Second Hour: Warren County corn producer Blake Reynolds calls us from the combine with a look at what his corn looks like on the yield monitor. Iowa Soybean Association President-elect Brent Swart joins us with a status update on the bean crop after the most recent dry spell and gives a view of the soybean industry as a whole. Don Roose from US Commodities joins us to end the show with another look at today's WASDE Report and a preview of where he sees the markets heading in the next couple of years.

Tuesday's First Hour: The September WASDE Report was out just minutes before today's Big Show and we get reaction from US Commodities' Don Roose right away at the beginning of the hour, as well as mid-hour with grains all moving lower. Iowa State University Extension Field Agronomist Leah TenNapel in Northwest Iowa says they are still seeing drought effects in the crop in that area and some of the corn is starting to be harvested with soybeans close behind. Dr. Jianfeng Zho at University of Missouri joins David to end the hour with a special report on researching the implementation of electric tractors.

Monday's Second Hour: In studio to begin this hour is Joe Heinrich from Smart Carbon Network who tells us about their group providing information to growers about the pipelines while also advocating for transparency from the companies and taking care of impacted farmers. Travis Lautner from DMACC tells us how the corn at the Corn Cam plot looks and gives an update on the new wetland they have on site there. We end the show with Jamey Kohake from paragon Investments who tells us the key numbers he is watching from today's crop conditions report and tomorrow's WASDE report.

Monday's First Hour: To start the show, we catch up with Trent Loos from Loos Tales on KFYR in North Dakota and the Free Soil Coalition tells us about the speaking engagement he is in Iowa for and Free Soil's opposition of the carbon pipeline. Clarabell Probasco from Iowa State University Extension tells us what crops look like in the southern part of Iowa where she is located. She says there are a surprising number of fields that have been harvested and many more should be expected by the end of the week. She also says fields are drying quicker than expected. Jamey Kohake from Paragon Investments is our market analyst today as calls it another "slow, sluggish day" ahead of tomorrow's WASDE report. At the hour's end, we catch up with Tim Meyer from the Steffes Group with the rain status from overnight down in Mt. Pleasant and he tells us what's on the auction slate coming up.

David Geiger was at the Iowa Hunger Summit yesterday and had the chance to talk with Ambassadors Terry Branstad and Kenneth Quinn about the creation of the summit and the importance of collaborating on ending hunger in a non-partisan effort. Iowa State University Extension Field Agronomist Gentry Sorenson in North Central Iowa gives us some info on drought conditions in his area with some areas moving into D3 Extreme Drought. He also says next week could be the start of combines rolling more frequently in that area. Don Roose from US Commodities ends this week of The Big Show with a market update as grains remain pretty quiet.

Terraform Tillage Founder Josh Jeske tells us about new tools available to collect data and monitoring soil compaction. Markets are quiet today and Don Roose from US Commodities talks a bit on how next Tuesday's WASDE with more accurate estimates could shake the market along with next Monday's crop conditions report. At the end of the hour, Chad Smith has a report for us on the extension of the comment period for the EPA's proposed herbicide strategy.

Starting the hour, we talk with Iowa State University Field Agronomist Meaghan Anderson with an update on drying of crop after high temperatures in the past couple of weeks and has some notes on pest concerns in Iowa. Iowa State Senator Annette Sweeney is at the Iowa Hung Summit today at the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates and tells us about the conversations she has been having with other leaders about solving hunger issues in Iowa and beyond. We wrap the day with Total Farm Marketing's John Heinberg analyzing the commodity markets and he says that after markets have stayed within a pretty tight range in the past few weeks, next week's WASDE report could change that.

Today is the start of the 17th Iowa Hunger Summit and we start today's show with Nicole Prenger from the World Food Prize Foundation who tells us what will be going on at the Hall of Laureates in Des Moines. Mike Naig is at the Summit and tells us what has been going on, what he discussed on a panel he was involved in this morning, and about the importance of recognizing hunger needs of the world as such a big ag state. John Heinberg from Total Farm Marketing gives us some information on what's bringing down soybeans today and what he expects from next week's WASDE report. Iowa State University Extension Beef Center has a Fall Fencing and Grazing Clinic coming up September 14th and Beth Reynolds tells us what they will be covering.
