Thursday's First Hour: DeKalb/Asgrow Technical Agronomist Nicole Stecklein talks drought with us in her area in Northeast Iowa and has information on what to watch to ensure soil health. Don Roose from US Commodities, Inc tells us how markets are reacting as harvest nears a close in the US and gives some insight into conditions in South America including issues with low river levels there. We continue our celebration of farmers harvesting today with Beck's Feed The Farmer up in Elgin, IA with farmer Nick Lechtenburg and Aaron Wenger from Beck's Hybrids.

Wednesday's Second Hour: Central Iowa State University Extension Agronomist Meaghan Anderson tells us how harvest progress is looking from her perspective, how our soil moisture levels compare to historical levels, and their research into Asian copperleaf. Stu Swanson from the Iowa Corn Growers Association chats about how harvest is going on his farm as they wrap up the last field today and the rapid dry down that we saw in Iowa this month. Angie Setzer from Consus Ag Consulting fills us in on what is bringing soybeans higher here in the past hour.

Iowa State University's Dr. Charlie Hurburgh talks about grain quality and storage with us to start the hour. Former Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan joins us on behalf of Natural Allies talking about the future of energy and natural gas in the United States. We close the show with Midwest Market Solutions President Brian Hoops looking at the grain and livestock markets this afternoon.

Monday's Second Hour: Bob Quinn is celebrating National Pork Month with the Iowa Pork Producers Association in Clive, IA! To open the hour, he talks with Dr. David Newman, Sr. Vice President for Market Growth at the National Pork Board, about the export demand for pork worldwide and some of their research into health and nutrition potential for pork. IPPA Marketing Programs Director Kelsey Sutter about the newly-crowned champion of the 2023 Iowa's Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest. IPPA Communications Director Kevin Hall tells us more about the Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon NIL deal and the posters featuring the ISU football players. We catch up with IPPA CEO Pat McGonegle tells us about the success of the new Pork Tent building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. We close the day with Jamey Kohake from Paragon Investments with some targets for grain markets as we approach the close.

He is joined by IPPA Consumer Information Director Joyce Hoppes talking about Porktober and their new NIL campaign with ISU football players Purchase, Moore, Hamann, and Bacon! Iowa Pork President Trish Cook tells us about the state of the pork industry in Iowa and discusses efforts to prevent foreign animal diseases. Smokey D's Owner Darren Warth joins Bob to talk about his recent induction into the American Royal Barbecue Hall of Fame and has some pork cooking tips! Paragon Investments' Jamey Kohake breaks down today's mixed commodity trade with corn slightly higher, soybeans slightly lower. Tim Meyer from the Steffes Group updates us on this fall's auction schedule and reminds farms in the combine that this is the time to be thinking ahead to off-season auctions.

Friday's Second Hour: As avian influenza makes a bit of a comeback across the Midwest, CEO of the Northcentral Poultry Association Kevin Stiles tells us more about the current spread and their research into causes and prevention. Scott Irwin from Farmdoc Daily joins us to talk about his latest article digging into how much of a difference extreme weather events throughout the growing season affect final yield totals. Burgler Marketing & Management President Alan Brugler talks markets with us to wrap up the week as corn and soybeans remain lower.

Friday's First Hour: Kelsey Sutter from the Iowa Pork Producers Association joins us from the winning restaurant of the 2023 Iowa's Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest: Cliff's Place in Manning, IA. We talk with her about the contest and Cliff's Place Co-owner Jim Waterbury about the ire business and the winner sandwich! Alan Brugler from Brugler Marketing & Management tells us about today's turnaround in the grain markets after being higher yesterday post-WASDE. We also hear from Bob and one of his listeners along for the ride on his fall colors tour of New England with Holiday Vacations!
