We continue celebrating on the fifth day of the 2023 Iowa State Fair! We start this hour outside the WHO Crystal Studio with one of the class winners of the FFA tractor restoration contest who revs up is Farmall for us. Two of the North Polk FFA members tell us about their favorite animals at the Avenue of Breeds. Hope Brecht from the Coalition to Support Iowa's Farmers tells us what she has enjoyed seeing from the Avenue of Breeds as she gets photos of the pick of the day that we feature during the morning farm reports. A representative from the Black Hawk County Cattlemen brings us some burgers from Cattlemen's Beef Quarters where they helped serve today. We also talk with one of our Congressmen on the Ag Committee, Zach Nunn from District 3 in Iowa, about the beef industry and the potential for a Farm Bill being passed. Kerry Smith from Unity Point Health Des Moines finishes up today's show with us telling us what they're doing with the Iowa Farm Bureau today teaching Fairgoers about the importance of hands-only CPR, particularly to those rural communities.

We continue from Day 1 of the 2023 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, IL! David is joined at the Titan Tire booth by Scott Sloan who tells us how to use your entry wristband to save on Titan tires and what celebrities you can meet at their booth in the next couple of days. At the Bayer booth, David is with Georgia soybean producer Alex Harrell who set a record yield this year and he talks about what made it happen. We end the day with another update on markets from Brian Hoops at Midwest Market Solutions with corn and soybeans still trailing yesterday's closing prices.

It's Day 1 of the 2023 Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois and David Geiger is on the grounds. We start the hour with David talking to FPS National Events Director Matt Jungmann about the details for those coming to the show and how to see everything there. He talks with Big Equipment Co. owner Ron Harmon about the production of the new Big Bud. Ryan Bales from Titan Tire joins David as well with a look at what's going on at booth 933. Brian Hoops from Midwest Market Solutions explains why corn and soybeans are still moving a bit lower despite decreases in crop conditions in yesterday's report.

Scott Sloan with Titan Tire is with us to start the hour live from the Farm Progress Show sitting in front of Big Bud and tells us about their FPS display at booth #933! ISU Extension Field Agronomist Virgil Schmidt gives us some comments on the condition of crops along the Eastern edge of Iowa. Jamey Kohake from Paragon Investments ends the show with us as corn and beans have had a bit of gain in the past hour on weather forecasts.

The 2023 Farm Progress Show kicks off tomorrow in Decatur, IL and Don Tourte gives us details on getting to the grounds and previews some of the biggest and best in ag that will be on display. Iowa State University Extension Field Agronomist Gentry Sorenson from District 2 in Northwest Iowa tells us what the field conditions look like there, says he has yet to see tar spot, but there are other diseases that have been showing up. Jamey Kohake from Paragon Investments is our market analyst today and says that he expects crop conditions to go down a bit with today's report but says the market is already taking it into account. Tim Meyer from Steffes Group gives some insight to end the hour on what you'll find at their Farm Progress Show booth and talks about getting on the sale schedule.

We start the hour with an update on tar spot in Iowa from Mark Storr from BASF. Nicole Stecklein from DeKalb/Asgrow in Northeast Iowa tells us what she's heard regarding the rainfall overnight last night in that area. She also discusses crop conditions and any fields that have seen some tar spot. Don Roose from US Commodities has the last word for the week on markets and says he expects grain prices to stay pretty flat in the next few weeks with corn being weighed down by wheat.

Friday's First Hour: Pro Farmer Crop Tour Numbers Rolling In.

Albia, IA farmer Kyle Bachman is out cutting corn today and we hear how it's looking so far. Don Roose from US Commodities tells us more about the Pro Farmer Crop Tour numbers' influence on today's market trade. He also says that we are no more price-competitive with the South America crop.

Thursday's Second Hour: Farm Progress Show Is Next Week! - Chad Husman from Stalcup AgService tells us what he has seen for crop condition near their office in Storm Lake, IA and any cutting of corn and alfalfa. With the 2023 farm Progress Show coming up next week in Decatur, IL, show organizer Matt Jungmann joins us with a preview of what we might see at the show and some details for those looking to attend. Angie Setzer from Consus wraps up the day with us with her outlook on the markets in the next few weeks.

Thursday's First Hour: Hay Baling and Crop Tour Results - It's hot hay baling weather and we start the show today talking with Jeff Longnecker about what he's seeing in the fields. He also tells us about an upcoming tractor pull in Nevada. Iowa State University Extension Field Agronomist Aaron Saeugling in Southwest Iowa tells us what crop conditions are looking like in his area after some rain in the end of July that he says saved the crop. The 'Goddess of Grain', Angie Setzer from Consus, joins us with a look at the markets.

We continue our Clean Water Wednesday from Guthrie Center with Verdesian Life Sciences and the Iowa Ag Water Alliance! Verdesian's Scott Ahrenholtz tells us why nitrogen management is so important to Verdesian and talks about the products and technologies they offer to increase nitrogen use efficiency. We end the Clean Water portion of today's show with Sean McMahon from the IAWA talking about the big picture on clean water in the state. We end the show with another update from Bryan Doherty of Total Farm Marketing as grains are now all higher approaching the close.
