The Billie Wonka Experience Podcast

Welcome back to the BWE!  Tonight I sat down with a friend of mine who is not only extremely kind and a talented baker, but she also carries with her numerous roles and titles, many of which are in service of others.  In addition to being a mother of 4 and wife, Liz Melvin is the Executive Director of Sturgeon Victim Services, a Pastor with The Father's House Church, an a district RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) Chaplain.  Liz takes me back to the beginning of her career, to where it all started; from leather jackets and cigarettes to bible camp and becoming a Minister.

We had a lot of fun on this episode.  Special thanks to Liz for chatting with me and for putting up with the constant cursing; she's such a good sport!!

See y'all next time.

Welcome to the BWE.  Fitting that Episode 1 starts off with Edmonton Oilers talk. Daryl is joined by Trevor and Chris to lay out some predictions for the season.  We discussed our projected line ups, the 3 most important players, a dark horse candidate, and one player who can make or break the season for the orange & blue.

We'd also like to extend our thoughts to Josh Archibald in hopes that he makes a full recovery.

See ya'll next time!

Welcome to Episode 25 of Last Minute GM with Daryl & Trevor.

It’s time for Oilers hockey talk and nothing but.  After a six day opening round sweep, it is worth discussing the Oilers playoff performance; the highs and lows.  We dig into what went wrong and talk about the qualities, both good and bad, of the on ice performance.  With the off-season looming and likely the only possible Oilers highlight for the next five months, Daryl intro’s a new roster for next season courtesy of the interactive GM feature on Capfriendly!  To cap everything off, we finish with a round of 10 questions trying to assess what the Oilers do as they head into next season.

If you’re an Oilers fan, you’ll like it!

We’ll be back next week with another episode.  Until then, take care, stay safe, and keep smiling!

Welcome to Episode 24 of Last Minute GM with Daryl & Trevor.

Today we pay homage to Mother’s around the world with some shared personal stories.  One mother celebrated early by delivering 9 babies!  You read that right, NINE. The Oilers had some milestones for three of their players but Connor freakin McDavid is just AMAZING.  Trevor runs through a round of Sail it Or Nail it (shout out to Ryan Reynolds) and then gets to test his knowledge of Mother’s Day Trivia.

Thanks for joining us!  We’ll be back next week with another new episode.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Welcome to Episode 23 of Last Minute GM with D and Trevor.

Do you remember those junior high video’s of birthing babies in the 70’s?!  D does and kicks the show off with a solid I gotta ask session.  Hard to say which was best but, between fatbergs (yes there real and not so spectacular), spoiled athlete’s, and Quarantine Corner, onion rings came out on top.  Aside from coffee and alcohol, you don’t need anything more in quarantine.  Oilers talk gets both D and Trevor fired up and Trevor asks some great questions in Going Deep.

Join us every Monday for a new episode.

Take care of yourself and be kind to one another.

Welcome to Episode 22 of Last Minute GM with Daryl  & Trevor.

Have you ever wished someone good luck by telling them to ‘break a leg’?!  Some may find it amusing but, if your Chris Weidman, you probably don’t. UFC 261 went off with a bang and a broken leg, Eminem dropped his first ever NFT collection during Shady Con, and yes, NFT’s are everywhere.

The NHL season is in the final stretch, unless you’re the Vancouver, then you have a quarter of it left to play.  If you’re the Flames or Canadiens, you better watch your back end, the Canucks have games in hand and are hungry.  The last thing you want to worry about now is Covid or injuries, the Oilers have an injury bug coming along but on a good note, Connor could hit 100 points in a 56 game season.

Daryl opened the show with a new segment of ‘I Gotta Ask’ and finishes with Sail It or Nail It.  The latter includes three names Trevor thoroughly enjoys in Deshaun Watson, Floyd Mayweather, and his favorite, Logan Paul.

Enjoy your week, play safe, be kind, and smile!

Welcome to Episode 21 of Last Minute GM with D and Trevor.

First Nasa lands on Mars and now a helicopter drone.  Yeah, exactly!  D and Trevor chat about the heli-drone and bust over to the NHL, post trade deadline.  They break down the best move, the most surprising move, the Oilers single move, and then go deep on the Oilers window to win.  Hint hint, Mike Smith as everything to do with that conversation!  There is some talk about the NBA Top Shot NFT’s and how those are going and the episode is finished with another segment of Sail It or Nail It.

Join us every Monday for a new episode.

Take care of yourself, be kind to one another, and keep smiling.

Welcome to Episode 20 of Last Minute GM with Daryl & Trevor.

Happy Easter!

With so much to talk about, we discuss the death of Prince Philip and DMX, George Floyds trial, and some present our choices for the NBA MVP candidate.  The NHL trade deadline is tomorrow and with that comes the many trade rumors and flurry of trades over the last 24 hours; including Taylor Hall being traded tp Boston during our recording.  Oiler fans, don't expect anything big!

Be kind to on another, take care of yourself, and wear your mask.

Welcome to Episode 19 of Last Minute GM with Daryl.

Personal development can be challenging, especially when facing the circumstances present day.  Change isn't easy and if we're honest with ourselves, we'd realize that nothing worth doing ever really.  Sometimes it takes a little help to shift our focus, to change our mindset in order to challenge our thinking and grow our minds.

Today, I sat down with business/life coach and co-founder of 'My Aligned Purpose', Nicole McLellan to discuss how to get out of a fixed mindset and into a growth mindset.  In addition to evolving your mind and beliefs, we also dip into the power of manifestation.  The plan is your own, the goals are endless, and today, the advise is free.  Thank you to Nicole for taking time to talk with me and providing some coaching insight.

Be kind to one another, take care of yourself, and grow your mindset.

Welcome to Episode 18 of Last Minute GM with your Daryl and guest-host, Trevor.

Tim Peel's verbal slip up hit the sporting news this week, as did the NHL's response to it; Daryl and Trevor talk about their thoughts on how controlled the games are and whether the punishment fit the crime.  After the NBA trade deadline, the Raptors stand pat with Kyle Lowry and the decision is met with approval from this crew.  Also, as sports cards make a come back, Trevor and Daryl take a walk down memory lane with back yard wrestling, trading cards, and NBA Jam!!

We'll be off for Easter weekend but will have a 'special edition' LMGM on Thursday April 8th and will be back our schedule on April 11th.

Be kind to one another, take care of yourself, and don't forget to smile.
