The Blacksmith's Furnace

Seems hip hop's Yeezus has gone to the darkside, or should I say the light (white) side, and everyone is kicking up a fuss about it, and understandably so, some of his comments have been, well just wrong!

So as lovers of hip hop and simply being aware of what's going on the topic of this week's episode isn't so much Kanye West the individual but some of his sentiments and how they're affecting the community.

As usual we've got some hookups for all our amazing listeners. We've got another collective shout out to friend of the podcast, Inktrovert, whose incredibly t shirts are still up for grabs @ https://everpress.com/strong-uv-vibes

Bobby A's hookup was, in line with today's topic, a poem by Jasmine Mans, Footnote to Kanye.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_sGUVHID-8

Pete recommended a podcast by Gimlet media called Sandra which is a sci-fi audio drama about an artificial intelligence assistant much like Siri or Alexis. (Trust me it's interesting)

Check it out at

https://www.gimletmedia.com/sandra

and Mo recommended a hip hop label Humble Beast whose entire roster consists of incredibly talented artists with a great message and artistry.

https://humblebeast.com/

We hope you enjoy the episode and if you do please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing, and if you don't, please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing.

There's a lengthy apology at the start of this weeks episode, apologising for my failure as a technician and strategist but to somewhat attempt to pacify the powers that be, I'm presenting one of our best episodes to date on denominations and the state of the body of Christ.

It was from way back so the quality of the audio might not be as good as it is now but the quality of the content most certainly is.

And as I explain in the podcast this was from a time where there were no hookups so here are the hookups from the lost episode

So Stephanie (@deeluxx on the gram and dee.luxx on snap) recommended her charity of choice this year Save the bees

https://friendsoftheearth.uk/bees/donate-save-britains-bees-get-your-bee-saver-kit-today

Miss Abim (@miss_luminary on the gram) shouted out gbekebaby which is a company her friends have started to help them finance their Christian school, gbekebaby creates satin sheets for babies so go support them

check them out on instagram @gbekebaby

Bobby A recommended The Empire Riftwar trilogy by his favourite fantasy author

get the collection on amazon here

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Raymond-Feist-Empire-Riftwar-Collection/dp/B00BEEA97U/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1525110763&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=the+empire+trilogy

And my hookup was the t shirt designs by long time listener of the podcast @inktrovert. She's got some incredible designs on a kickstarter like platform where if it gets enough buys it goes to print otherwise you just get refunded. This isn't paid promotion or any favour really I saw the designs on her instagram literally bought two, one for me and one for the Mrs and asked her permission to share the link with you guys so go check it out on everpress (link below to the one i got but check out the other designs she's got available!)

How you get them is how they leave you.

At least that's exactly what the furnace seems to be thinking as Bobby A presented the main topic for the episode: #TristanThompson 's cheating on #Khloe #Kardashian

With two thirds of the Furnace married, it was a stark and honest conversation about how we would cope with cheating and being cheated on in our marriages.

In the second half of the conversation we also talked about the power of names and why some Biblical names like Judas and Jezebel aren't used much at all but then names of people like Samson and Adam who also messed up are used.

For the hookups,

Peter recommended Jackie Hill Perry's new album Crescendo which is available for pre-order

https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/crescendo/1370503267?mt=1&app=music&at=11l8Pk%22

Bobby A' s recommendation is a saxophonist called Yolanda Brown

https://open.spotify.com/artist/4VGGxAkrs07Y4vyCdiaxq0?si=5TGO_X9hRQyp9-RFZYYjNA

And Mo also had an album hookup that is 100% worth a listen

The Unfolding

In the past 4 weeks everyone in the furnace has had a birthday and it seems this has Bobby A thinking about time and it's effect on our relationships.

So in a largely hypothetical scenario we look at if we could love the same person for our whole lives if our lives spanned eternity.

With Mo and Pete both having made the vows to love their wives till death do them part it's a hard conversation to have honestly but we try our best.

Somehow we also found ourselves talking about social media and it's effect on our worldviews after Mo suggested a digital detox for his hookup.

Speaking of hookups

Bobby A suggested a worship album by Lauren Daigle

https://open.spotify.com/album/14427qUMB9bZRA6wVcvbmQ?si=jMTfDY2WRN2yd0XMJtd4vw

Mo, as mentioned, suggested a digital detox as he is now taking a break from social media. but also snuck in a shout out for Timothy brindle's new single Water Judgement

https://youtu.be/I1b5o_U2gy0

And Peter's hookup was Toys R Us and the ridiculous sales that are going on now they're going out of business

We hope you enjoy the episode and if you do please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing, and if you don't, please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing.

In today's culture of relative truth's apparently one Love and Hip Hop star, Sophia Body, is claiming everyone from Beyonce to Maddonna has or is sleeping their way to the topic, except her of course, and in today's episode we talk about how true this could be.

This lead into a conversation about aesthetics and how important this is in our society and how important it should be?

Hookups

Peter's hookup was a bit more conceptual this week just a reminder to spend a bit more time shopping around to take advantage of the thousands of pounds worth of savings that can be made

Mo's hookup was coughlans bakery chain who have, according to him, some dope donuts

http://www.coughlansbakery.co.uk

Bobby A suggested checking out a rap battle between two heavy hitters on the scene at the moment , Hollow Da Don vs Charlie Clips

Just a warning before you do there's a ton of expletives and content many would consider offensive so watch at your own discretion.

Firstly Happy Easter Everyone! Hopefully you all had a grand time during the festivities.

Interestingly enough in this episode we didn't talk about Easter at all;

Bobby A started us off in the deep end, addressing the recent issue of an individual having completed the minimum time spent for his 19 charges of sexual assault, having his release back into society overturned by his victims families. We talk about whether or not this was fair and what we would do.

There's also a conversation about superman's services being rejected in one of the comics Bobby A is currently reading and we talk about how that translates to faith and Christ's services of salvation are rejected by some.

Hookups

Mo recommened an album by Humble Beast artist Propaganda

https://humblebeast.com/crooked-by-propaganda/

Bobby A recommended checking out the comic book event World War Hulk

It's five weeks since the highest grossing superhero movie in history hit the silver screen.

That means if you haven't watched it by now you can't blame anyone for spoilers but the one looking back at you in the mirror wondering why on Earth you haven't watched Black Panther yet!

(Fists across chest #Wakanda Forever)

We talk about almost everything concerning the movie and ponder why the christian movie scene hasn't seen such creativity and artistry on display.

t's our 100th Episode and on such an important milestone we thought it fit to talk about Milestones!

Honestly , we really need to say a big thank you to every single individual that has ever listened to the podcast. It means so much to us to know there are people out there that give us a listen and interact with us. It would be an act in vain if not for you so thanks so much just for being a listener.

Here's to hundreds more!!

We're still building up to our hundredth hookup segment but for this week:

Peter Suggested Audible as a great substitute to reading physical books for the individual that's always on the move.

https://www.audible.co.uk/

Bobby A suggested a website that offers great discounts on physical books, for the individual that still appreciate ink on paper

https://wordery.com/

And speaking of paper Mo, in keeping with his abstract streak suggests using pen and paper and attempting to claw back those physical activities from our increasingly digital experience.

We hope you enjoy the episode and if you do please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing, and if you don't, please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing.

It's a fairly simply one today

Happy Mother's Day!!

Just a quick one with the hook ups

In the wake of the HUGE scandal following Nicki Minaj's ex boyfriend Safaree Samuels' nude photo leak. Bobby A thought it fit for us to talk about Nude pictures, what makes a good one, whether or not we've sent, requested or received them, and what it means to be emotionally naked in a serious relationship.

Forgive the giggles and laughs as we take shots at each other and discuss decency and purity in relationships.

We were also joined by the lovely Jemz who provided a much needed female perspective on the topic.

In our Hookups section Bobby A recommended Vic Mensa's new Album

Peter suggested an incredible free app called E-Sword which is a rich resource for biblical study you can download for free

Mo suggested taking some time to spend in nature and observe and appreciate God's incredible handiwork

and Jemz recommended an app called Time tree for couple's who could use a shared task /calendar manager that connects to both individuals calendars and allows them to keep track of family calendars in a very convenient way.
