Ten people abdicated their faith bringing great discouragement to the others, but then a demure woman by the name of Blandina took a supernatural beating that shocked and dismayed the men torturing her. Who afterwards confessed they could do nothing to make her die and they were surprised she was still breathing. This is a very serious installment of the Eusebius' Ecclesiastical History of the Church. With a focus on martyrdoms, heresies, and unpleasant judgement events.Book 5 has 28 chapters in it and due to its content, it's a difficult read. Today's study identifies three scenarios where churches / authorities are forbidden to accept tithe offerings / compensation from their flock. Raising the question: is every scenario forbidden? I hope that question will be answered in a future book! But these three are certainly interesting.You may have heard about churches where people roll around on the ground in the isles laughing uncontrollably or babbling inchorently. Chapter 17 appears to suggest that's demonic (I'm just telling you what the book says). I can't say it's incontravertible, but that does appear to be the message from this study.There are a couple stories of divine torment that are interesting. In one scenario God broke both arms of a man who leveled charges at Apollinarius. I dive into the book review. It begins with the beginning: the voyage of Columbus.These gentlemen did a fantastic job assembling such a great story! Remember, this was in 1977, a time before the Internet existed, when research was done by libraries and social networking (but with actual friends).Peter Marshall (1940-2010), was a graduate of Yale University and Princeton Theological Seminary, was a nationally recognized speaker on Christian growth and maturity and on America's Christian heritage. I confess I dedicated most of this podcast to establishing that the Indians were heavily into Satanism and witchcraft and that their situation was a judgement event from God. These gentlemen did a fantastic job assembling such a great story! Of Plymouth Plantation is a history journaled by William Bradford. It begins with the members of the Scrooby church who decided to leave England for the sake of their religious freedom. Initially they moved to Holland, which was such a difficult existence, that when they heard of the Newfoundland in America they eagerly relocated.John Winthrop served as governor for one year and died. William Bradford was unanimously chosen to serve as governor and did so for the next thirty. Under him the Mayflower compact was created and a treaty and allegiance formed between the settlers and nearby Indian tribes. The peace they established led to prosperity on both sides.The attached audio podcast describes a series of providential occurrences on the Mayflower voyage. As well as the attempted insurrection of two pastors who pretended to support the settlers even as they betrayed them with letters to England (in particular their enemies in the church of England).The book is a fantastic read explaining why I gave it 5 stars. For Christians who want to understand how to cast out demons.I gave this book five stars for content. And at 25 pages, it's a quick/easy read.Frank is an author of Christian related books, particularly on the deliverance ministry. In 1980 Hammond founded The Children's Bread Ministry with his wife (and sometimes coauthor) Ida Mae Hammond.From what I can tell Frank erred on the side of caution because he taught that resentment, gossiping, compulsive eating, forgetfulness, sexual and mental problems – were caused by demons requiring deliverance. It’s worth noting that he and his wife wrote a book called Pigs in the Parlor that sold over one million copies.Link to the deliverance series on the Book Matrix
