  • What Love Is
For those who hate the mundane, this podcast is unpredictable. It is my attempt to imply that love is without rhyme or reason. It defies logic and (sometimes) good sense. It is unlike any of my other podcasts in every way.The way you know you know what love is is when you realize you know nothing about it all.See the entire Valentine's Day Series on the Book MatrixView relationship podcasts on the Book Matrix

  • The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx [37 Mins]
Communism is my enemy. Sun Tzu warned us to know our enemy. I gave this book zero stars.Normally I avoid politics and commentary, but I made an exception in this case. If you are pro-socialism or pro-communism you may want to avoid this podcast. This will be more helpful to someone who wants to know what Karl Marx said and how to argue against it.Karl Marx was born in May 1818 and died at 65. He was a German philosopher, economist, historian, political theorist, journalist and revolutionary. Due to his political publications, Marx became stateless meaning no country would claim him and so he lived in exile with his wife and children in London for decades. His best known writings are his 1848 pamphlet, The Communist Manifesto, and the three-volume Das Kapital series.See other books on philosophy and politics on the Book Matrix

  • Review of Irresistible Attraction by Kevin Hogan and Mary Lee LeBay [17 Mins]
A thorough resource on finding, dating, marrying and even rekindling a lost romance. It starts from the beginning and ends at the end. I gave it 4 stars. This book answers questions like:What do I do with my hands when I'm nervous?Where and how do I sit or stand? How can I tell if she's interested? What do I say and not say?How to look and smell, self awareness, body language and appearance. As meticulous as the material is, they do a fair job framing their message in an interesting way.Quotes from their book:— Most people are unaware of how much their body says and how often it contradicts their words.— The single most important characteristic is enthusiasm— Very little is more exciting than being with those who make things happen— People with a sense of certainty take enormous action toward their goalsKevin Hogan is an international public speaker, consultant, and corporate trainer. He has trained persuasion, sales and marketing skills to leaders of governments and Fortune 500 companies.Mary Lee LaBay is a certified clinical hypnotherapist, certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner, and certified instructor of hypnotherapy.See the entire Valentine's Day Series on the Book MatrixView relationship podcasts on the Book Matrix

  • Common Sense (in modern English) by Thomas Paine [52 Mins]
I love Thomas Paine's Common Sense pamphlet, but it's a difficult read because it's written in Old English and so I have reworded it in modern English in this podcast. That makes it far more interesting and it's surprisingly relevant for Americans today. The impact of Thomas Paine’s work cannot be overstated. It was so popular people recited it aloud in bars and churches. And at times the bitter angry humor is a welcome relief from the seriousness of its contents. It went on to sell millions of copies not just in the US, but also internationally.See the series on the Colonization of America or classics on the Book Matrix

  • Review of When Money Dies by Adam Fergusson [13 Mins] on Finance
Currency collapse kung fu! This is the best resource I've found. Learning the history of Germany's currency crisis may literally save your life and fortune!I gave this book 5 stars. The best audience is preppers, economists, anyone interested in finance or history… For example if you’d like to know how to prosper during difficult economic times, this book is for you. It’s a real eye opener. I think everyone should read it as a form of financial self defense.During the 2008 credit crises in the US, there was a shortage on copies of his book and so they sold on eBay for $1,000 each. Hence I recommend purchasing several hardcopies to keep on hand.Adam Fergusson was born in July of 1932 making him 87 years old today. He is a British journalist and author who served one term in the European Parliament as an MEP. He is a business consultant. Later he left the Herald to work as the foreign editor of the Statist in 1964 (a journal for economists and businessmen).View Business / Finance / Self Help on the Book Matrix website

  • Summary of the Baghavad Gita holy book of the Hindus - Part 1 [12 Mins]
Baghavad Gita Part 1This is a great 2-for-1 study. Two world religions reviewed in one podcast: the Hari Krishna and the Hindu. The book opens with Arjuna's distress. The warrior prince is confronted with the horror of civil war and is plagued by the question: "How can I fight and kill my countrymen?"The author of the Gita was a skilled writer who used a style similar to Plato's in order to tackle this dilemma. A conversation then unfolds between Arjuna and Krishna that would become the religious doctrine for two popular world religions.Link to the whole series or the 10-For-1 on the Book Matrix

  • Summary of the Baghavad Gita holy book of the Hindus - Part 2 [14 Mins]
Baghavad Gita Part 2Great for those curious about the religion of the Hindus and Hari Krishnas. You will recall that part 1 opened with, "Krishna, how can I kill my kinfolk?"In part 2, Krishna pivots away from the opening question ever so slightly to unfold the religious doctrine that created two popular world religions. While at the same time he applies tremendous pressure to Arjuna to comply. In reply to Arjuna's question, he effectively says, "Arjuna, you're talking like a coward. Snap out of it." And then he explains reincarnation and meditation. The author of the Gita was skilled in that throughout the book he remained focused on the opening question, and yet he was able to use it to pivot into other topics that became the basis for two world religions. He used these other topics to turn up the heat influencing Arjuna to comply. This is a great 2-for-1 study.Link to the whole series or the 10-For-1 on the Book Matrix

  • Summary of the Baghavad Gita holy book of the Hindus - Part 3 [42 Mins]
Baghavad Gita Part 3We set the stage for the discussion in parts 1 and 2. And so in part 3, we cover the rest of the Gita. It's an ambitious, but compelling deep dive into a complex religion. In this study, Arjuna asks a fantastic question, "Krishna, How do I find you in death?"And so this podcast dives into the nature of body and soul, how to enter heaven in the afterlife, how Krishna says to end the reincarnation loop and the nature of the universe he created. The Gita is the only holy book I have reviewed (thus far) that supports the description of the universe as explained by science.Link to the whole series or the 10-For-1 on the Book Matrix
