Hey girl, thank you for being here for this episode. In this episode, Andrea Chaves, founder of Pineapple Women, talks to us about her inspiration behind Pineapple Women. While working in a high school, she noticed that the girls were having limitations in dreaming big. The issue is that there weren't many women role models they could look up to. Hey girl, thank you for being here for this episode. In honor of Donate Life Month, I wanted to share the beautiful stories of donors, donor families, and recipients. In this episode, Becky shares with us the story about her dad and how he became an organ donor. Becky and her family had to make the tough decision, whether to donate her dad's organs or not. They decided that by donating his organs they would be honoring him and doing something that he himself would have done. All his life, he cared about other people but most importantly he was a loving father and husband. He saved 8 lives! Thank you, Becky! Because I know that sharing your dad's story was not easy. Thank you for making the decision to save lives! Please consider registering to be an organ, eye, and tissue donor. Hey girl, thank you for being here for this episode. In this episode, I have a very special guest, my husband, who is telling us his perspective on being married to someone with kidney disease. It is important for me to not only show the perspective of the patient (me) but also show the perspective of the caregiver. When someone deals with a chronic illness, it is not just the patient suffering but the entire family. Kidney disease is very hard on the patient and it also takes a toll on those who are caring for the patient. I hope you enjoy listening. Please leave a comment below and share this episode if you like it. Are you following me on Instagram? @thebraveinher
Hey girl, thank you so much for being here for this episode. In honor of Kidney Disease Awareness Month, I am sharing part of my kidney disease journey. Some of the details will be really personal for me but it is important to me to give as much detail as I can to help others. For many years I refused to speak about my journey because I didn’t want to be seen as a victim of kidney disease or for people to feel bad for me. Because I certainly do not feel that way about my journey, in fact, the complete opposite. It makes me feel proud that even though I have gone through so much physically, mentally, and emotionally due to my illness, I am able to say that I have never given up on goals or dreams, like this podcast. That I continue to fight every day! Yes, it might have taken me longer than other people, but I do not give up. If you or anyone you know has kidney disease, please know you are not alone. Please reach out to me or to a kidney disease community for support. I am here for you! Are you following me on IG? @thebraveinher
