Two disciples were on the road to Emmaus. They were discouraged because they had recently watched their hopes and dreams die on the cross. They were traumatized, and they were troubled when they heard the tomb was empty. While they were questioning and doubting, Jesus drew near to them. They didn’t recognize Jesus in his resurrected body until Jesus finally broke the bread in front of them. He was finally revealed and made known to them in the breaking of bread.
